...you cut bait on McHale and you either go hire GSW assistant coach Alvin Gentry (stock has been rising) or one of Pop's assistants (Jim Boylen -- former HOU assistant, or Messina)

Really? Alvin Gentry is the answer?

We aren't better than this team. Period. There's no secret to beating them. We can't.

Alvin Gentry ... If you complain about McHale is slow in the games ... Alvin would McHale look like a Ninja of calling time outs.

It's our only hope: you take away one of the reasons why they've been so good this year. Addition by subtraction (from GSW). Kerr gives tons of credit to Gentry for their success. He also ran a similar style of offense at PHX. Very well respected coach.

McHale ain't going anywhere. And Gentry is an overrated head coach. If he was any good, he wouldn't be an assistant right now.

As for the Warriors, there's one way to stop them from becoming a dynasty. Pray that the Cavs beat them in the Finals. Then maybe if we're lucky, their owner balks at matching the 16 mil/yr Green is going to get from another team, and the Warriors never sniff the NBA Finals again.

If Detroit can cut Josh Smith and swallow $30 million guaranteed, anything is possible with Alexander. He's got condos in NYC he never visits that are half the cost of McHale's contract. It's a rounding error to him. After this smackdown, he may be mad enough to finally do something.

Simpleton analysis to say "If he was any good, he wouldn't be an assistant right now." Some of the greatest coaches ever worked their way up the assistant ranks.

Feel sorry for the Pels. They cut Monty for him?

Yeah, let's fire McHale right now. Bonus points if we do it during the post-game press conference, in front of all the reporters. I want to see him cry!

Get over it. He's our coach for the foreseeable future.

We all know mcfail is a terrible coach and slow making adjustments.
Starting smith against clippers was a great adjustment because we match size and athleticism.
    Game 4 starting line up.
    Johnson harden brewer ariza Howard
Or harden brewer ariza jones Howard

    Terry can not guard curry.
Have him and smith come off the bench.

Emerging dynasty? What's going to happen when they lose Draymond Green?

When they fire him, we'll see you back on Clutchfans saying how wrong you were. I'm sure you'll admit it. 3 terrible games against LAC and this dog tonight point to bad preparation.

So that's "simpleton analysis", but suggesting that the only way to stop Golden State is to hire Jim Boylen is some kind of next level stuff?

Even if they lose him, Curry, Klay, Barnes -- that's a great 'Big 3.' Then add Bogut, Iggy, Ezeli - man, tough to stop.

The only thing that can stop them is a pipe to Curry's leg Jeff Gilooly style.

I'll take anyone who has worked under Pop for a few years over what we've now got any day.

Just stop. McHale is not getting fired. The Rockets are in the Western Conference Finals. They came back from a 3-1 deficit in the last round. No coach has had this level of success with the team since Rudy back in 1997.

That's not to say I'm entirely pleased with the job he's done as coach. Tonight marks the 5th time in 15 postseason games the Rockets have come out and laid an egg. So clearly there are issues with players not being mentally engaged which is inexcusable in the playoffs.

That being said, most championship teams have to learn how to lose before they figure out how to win. How many times did Dream's Rockets get knocked out of the first round before they started to figure things out? How many times did Shaq get swept? How many times did Jordan's Bulls get their asses handed to them by the Pistons?

I'm not happy with the way this series is playing out. But the most important thing is what the Rockets take away from this. Will they learn from this playoff loss the way those other teams did? We'll find out in about 5 months.
