Its pretty embarrassing that Roots or Rockets.com didn't have a stream for this event. I know I was looking forward to seeing it as it was happening.

Was the second announcement they mentioned at the end of the video the contract extension for James?

 

My take-away from this is Ryan Anderson's comments are the new measure of gauging a player's happiness to be on a new team based on press conference quotes.

 

I wish Les would stop bringing up that last year's team still made the playoffs. He should stop acting like that somehow made the season more successful, when it clearly did the opposite.

 

Many people see Anderson's contract as inflated but Gordon as a pretty good deal. Hearing Les talk it seems like overpaying for Andsrson allowed them to underpay for Gordon because he REALLY wanted to come here after we locked up Ryan. That was the big thing I took away from this.

 

He's not talking about whether we should have tanked or not. He's talking about are general strength as a team, in the context of how far we have to go.

I mean, let's say we did shut it down and barely missed the playoffs to get the 12th seed. Would it then be OK for him to say, "Although we missed the playoffs, we did so to get the 12th pick, but we really are a playoff team. We just chose to tank a little at the end."

 

anyone know what the media announcement was at the very end ?

or is that normal for the PR person to say and not important to the regular fan?

Haha @ Leslie with the glasses. Such a weird guy, just cannot make out what kind of person he is. Watch the transition of him getting excited over the meeting with Eric and then immediately go to his evil face as if he's a puppet / dead...hilarious!!!

Great stuff from Ryan and Eric, two good guys and MDA made some good points about position less basketball along with Morey how Eric and Harden will fit together like they hoped Ty would.
