You're right we have terrible coaching. A smart coach would start the fourth quarter with a lineup like:

    PG: Harden
    SG: Shumpert
    SF: Ariza
    PF: Dorsey
    C: Howard

And just deny teams into submission. Why hasn't Morey made this trade already?

NYC has a history of over hyping their own players, that's what happens when you go to a team that is a media mecca and full of die hard fans. Shumpert is above average, I don't think he's better in any area than say, Tony Allen but you hear the hype its like he is superstar bait lol.

I see him being a quality sixth man but nothing more.

I would only take Shumpert if they paid us to take him.

2 years ago he looked great, 40% from 3, while playing solid D.
Last season he looked washed up, couldn't finish at the rim, average D, no 3.

    Not worth it.

    Do you watch NBA???

Cisco Garcia is a better finisher at the rim than Shumpert - and it isn't even close. Do some research before making foolish statements!

I know garcia can finish. I meant that because we had so many people botch lay ups last year like beverly, Harden, and Parsons.

Shump would be solid off the bench, wouldn't give up much though.

You still need to do some research.

If you think those guys botched layups, go watch Shumpert.

Morey has a habit of trading players right before they become expensive. Shumpert is about to become very expensive. I can't imagine Morey getting someone who will be a RFA next year.

Seems to be a matter of trying to save on the luxury tax. Ellington is an expiring contract that the Knicks took on as a part of the Tyson Chandler/Jose Calederon trade. He does not impact his future flexibility, but the Knicks are well over the tax limit so that getting rid of his salary could save them quite a bit of money.

The Rockets might agree to take on some of the guys from the Knicks (or the Nets, another team well over the luxury tax threshold) sometime this season to help them save on $. But I think for now Morey is aiming for something bigger with the TPE and non-guaranteed contracts.

    I'd take Prigioni.

Covington for Prigioni should work, Covington's non guaranteed.
