I feel guilty for making this thread. So many trade suggestions out there it makes me sick. But this is a trade I'd like to see happen.
    -------------------------
Houston trades: PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 16.8 minutes)
SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 41.7 minutes)
PF Maurice Taylor (8.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 20.6 minutes)
Houston receives: PF Stromile Swift (9.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 22.1 minutes)
PG Jason Williams (12.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 8.3 apg in 31.7 minutes)
SG Wesley Person (11.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 29.4 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +2.6 ppg, +1.8 rpg, and +4.4 apg.

Memphis trades: PF Stromile Swift (9.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 22.1 minutes)
PG Jason Williams (12.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 8.3 apg in 31.7 minutes)
SG Wesley Person (11.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 29.4 minutes)
Memphis receives: PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 82 games)
SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 73 games)
PF Maurice Taylor (8.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 67 games)
Change in team outlook: -2.6 ppg, -1.8 rpg, and -4.4 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED
    -------------------------------------

We get a nice backup PG in Jason. Also, we will get a smart point guard who can play with Stevie at the 2. We'd have a pure shooter in Wesley Person. We'd be getting a cure for our cancer in Moochie, and adding in a young, powerful player with lots of potential who, in some peoples eyes, is growing into a strong player alot quicker then our EG. And look on the bright side, say goodbye to Mo "Money" Talor's contract and adding in Wesley who doesn't have many years left.

    Man that will never happen.
Memphis would be happy with getting Mobley... but Mo taylor and Mooch?!
Never. Memphis will never do this trade.

    J. Will = Cat
    Person > Mooch
Stro > Mo Taylor and his ****** contract.

    Memphis are getting ripped.

I don't know if I'd pull the trigger, but I'd strongly consider it.

Don't see why Memphis would do it though.

Ill give you approximately 32 million reasons why Memphis won't. That would be the rough cost of Pau Gasol's backup if that trade went down.

That trade also leaves Mempis with no starting PG.

maybe Jerry West wouldn't do it... but if you were CD and the Rocks, would you do it?

If West wouldn't do it (which he wouldn't), then why would it matter if CD would?

    Takes two to tango.

You don't need to see if my shoe fits you before your shoe does. Would you want Person, Swift, and Jwill on our team in place of Cat, Moochie, and Mo T?

Explain to me why this is B.S.? What do you not like about this trade? We improve on everything but the 2guard, which can easily be rigged to be a plus.

Id rather have Duncan, Garnett and McGrady in place of Cat, Moochie and MoT since we are talking fantasy stuff. :)

Well, while we're at it, how about this one ;):

Houston trades: PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 16.8 minutes)
    C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes)
PF Maurice Taylor (8.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 20.6 minutes)
SF Glen Rice (9.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.7 minutes)
Houston receives: SG Wesley Person (11.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 29.4 minutes)
PF Stromile Swift (9.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 22.1 minutes)
SG Michael Dickerson (4.8 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.3 apg in 14.5 minutes)
SF Danny Ferry (1.9 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.3 apg in 9.4 minutes)
PG Jamaal Tinsley (7.8 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 7.5 apg in 30.6 minutes)
SF Ron Artest (15.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.9 apg in 33.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +24.5 ppg, +5.9 rpg, and +9.6 apg.

Memphis trades: SG Wesley Person (11.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 29.4 minutes)
PG Jason Williams (12.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 8.3 apg in 31.7 minutes)
PF Stromile Swift (9.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 22.1 minutes)
SG Michael Dickerson (4.8 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.3 apg in 14.5 minutes)
Memphis receives: PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 82 games)
    C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 73 games)
PF Maurice Taylor (8.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 67 games)
PG Fred Jones (1.2 ppg, 0.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 19 games)
PF Al Harrington (12.2 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.5 apg in 82 games)
Change in team outlook: -7.0 ppg, +5.6 rpg, and -6.5 apg.

Indiana trades: SF Danny Ferry (1.9 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.3 apg in 9.4 minutes)
PG Fred Jones (1.2 ppg, 0.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 6.0 minutes)
PG Jamaal Tinsley (7.8 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 7.5 apg in 30.6 minutes)
PF Al Harrington (12.2 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.5 apg in 30.1 minutes)
SF Ron Artest (15.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.9 apg in 33.6 minutes)
Indiana receives: SF Glen Rice (9.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 62 games)
PG Jason Williams (12.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 8.3 apg in 76 games)
Change in team outlook: -17.5 ppg, -11.5 rpg, and -3.1 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Houston, Memphis, and Indiana being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Houston, Memphis, and Indiana had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Indiana gets screwed royally in this trade, but maybe they like it :D.

Actually, I think this one would be pretty attractive to all teams involved:

Houston trades: PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 16.8 minutes)
    C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes)
PF Maurice Taylor (8.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 20.6 minutes)
SF Glen Rice (9.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.7 minutes)
Houston receives: PG Fred Jones (1.2 ppg, 0.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 6.0 minutes)
SF Danny Ferry (1.9 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.3 apg in 9.4 minutes)
SF Ron Artest (15.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.9 apg in 33.6 minutes)
PF Stromile Swift (9.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 22.1 minutes)
SG Michael Dickerson (4.8 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.3 apg in 14.5 minutes)
SG Wesley Person (11.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 29.4 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +17.9 ppg, +2.8 rpg, and +2.4 apg.

Indiana trades: SG Jamison Brewer (2.2 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 1.8 apg in 8.0 minutes)
PG Anthony Johnson (4.1 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.3 apg in 12.8 minutes)
PG Jamaal Tinsley (7.8 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 7.5 apg in 30.6 minutes)
PF Primoz Brezec (2.0 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 0.2 apg in 5.2 minutes)
PG Fred Jones (1.2 ppg, 0.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 6.0 minutes)
SF Danny Ferry (1.9 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.3 apg in 9.4 minutes)
SF Ron Artest (15.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.9 apg in 33.6 minutes)
Indiana receives: C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 73 games)
PG Jason Williams (12.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 8.3 apg in 76 games)
Change in team outlook: -18.1 ppg, -5.1 rpg, and -5.7 apg.

Memphis trades: PG Jason Williams (12.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 8.3 apg in 31.7 minutes)
PF Stromile Swift (9.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 22.1 minutes)
SG Michael Dickerson (4.8 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.3 apg in 14.5 minutes)
SG Wesley Person (11.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 29.4 minutes)
Memphis receives: PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 82 games)
PF Maurice Taylor (8.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 67 games)
SF Glen Rice (9.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 62 games)
SG Jamison Brewer (2.2 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 1.8 apg in 10 games)
PG Anthony Johnson (4.1 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.3 apg in 66 games)
PG Jamaal Tinsley (7.8 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 7.5 apg in 73 games)
PF Primoz Brezec (2.0 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 0.2 apg in 21 games)
Change in team outlook: +0.2 ppg, +2.3 rpg, and +3.3 apg.

We would cut Jones and Ferry. Dickerson would retire sometime during the season. Person would come off the cap at the end of the season. Swift could play the few minutes at the backup C position behind Yao Ming, together with E. Griffin.

Memphis would get rid of Dickerson who has health problems. Swift has reportedly had a bad attitude during his time with the Grizzlies, so perhaps they would want to get rid of him as well. Who knows, they might see Tinsley (starter)/Moochie (backup) for Williams as an upgrade....With Posey and Battier there, there would not be THAT many minutes left for Person anyway, and they probably would not resign him. Brezec, Johnson, Brewer are just cap throw-ins. Rice would come off the cap at the end of the season, which could be interesting for a rebuilding team.

The Houston Rockets after this trade:

    PG: Francis 40 min. /Mobley 8 min.
    SG: Mobley: 30 min./Piatkowski 10 min./Person 8 min.
    SF: Artest: 34 min./Piatkowski 8 min./Person 6 min.
    PF: Griffin: 30 min./Swift 18 min.
    C: Yao Ming: 34 min./Griffin 8 min./Swift 6 min.

IR: Dickerson, Nachbar, A. Griffin (he would still get a lot of minutes when Artest is out due to suspensions or for special defensive assignments etc.)

SJC...sorry...that trade would be good for the Rockets and Pacers, but I don't know why Memphis would take in so much crap.

One has to assume Memphis is overeager to part with Jdub's max contract, and cannot re-sign Stro effectively. Wes they already are trying to trade for something. Memphis is going to be built around Pau, and they need players that can have his back and feed him the ball, or hit an outside jumper. You're not giving them that. You might try this with Cato instead of Mo T.

    Lo Wright, C.Trybansiki
    Pau, Mo T (?)
    Miller, Posey
    Cut-tino, Battier
E.Watson, T. Bell., Brevin Knight, TLD

Now, if we get back J-Dub, can he feed Francis at the 2 and Yao?
How will he work with JVG? Is he the missing link that we pay the MAX to connect Steve and Yao and get the most out of them? My bank sez NO. I'd rather find another Watson, really, and spend that 3rd wheel money on a bigger man.

Wes and Stro I like as insurance, sure, but that's all they are here. Wes can hit the outside j. Stro might develop some inside game. But overall, eh.

    How about this trade instead?

    Houston sends Mobley/Cato/Taylor to Memphis.

    Memphis sends Battier/Swift/Knight/Person to Houston.

Memphis gets the center they need, a starting SG, & a PF that can bring instant offense off the bench.

Houston gets a starting SF in Battier, a more than adequate replacement for Mobley at SG, an upgrade at PG in Knight, & an up-n-coming young PF in Swift with a stronger low post game than Griffin. We also get 2 more expiring contracts (Person/Knight) to give us a total of about $35 million in contracts at the end of the year (not counting our #1 pick's dollars). That'd give us about $8-9 million to pursue FA's. I wonder if KG would sign a 3 year deal starting at $9 million per year?

    C: Ming/Badiane/FA
    PF: Garnett/Swift/Griffin
    SF: Battier/Nachbar/Piatkowski
    SG: Person/Piatkowski/A.Griffin
    PG: Francis/Knight/Moochie(IL)

No, he would not, but I would like that trade a lot better than the one you proposed in your other thread. Now, if we could only replace Mobley in that trade with Moochie/Nachbar...or something like that...then I'd be happy :).
