    Petty ended up getting writing credits for that song. I guess the guy was like "okay, you got me" and they settled amicably out of court.

    I read somewhere that Sting gets $2,500 a DAY for Puff Daddy's Missing You, which of course sampled Every Breath You Take.

    LOLs! I knew it! My daughters play that song and and I sing "No I... Won't Back Down" and of course, it annoys them. I say "I'm singing my own song to the rhythm! 'Course, it's the same song... ;) "
