I dont know maybe its marvel spoiling me with such good productions, that based on fox's track record I am hesitant to see this movie . Sure it has a better producer, I actually liked the Chronicle's ,so ill probably wait and see. I will however say if this movie is a drag Fox should do the honorable thing and give the rights back to marvel .

So I guess they made Sue Storm, the adopted one.

    Interesting.

Surprised they're going right for Dr. Doom in the origin story, but why not.

And is it just me, or is it risky to have plastic man look like a junior high chess club president?

Trailer looks OK but the FF4 may be one Marvel item that doesn't translate well to the big screen. I don't expect much.

They may as well go for broke and put Dr. Doom in the first one because the entire FF4 franchise is at stake with this release.

Marvel has been doing much better with their movies and shows now so I have a little hope. But I am not a fan of any of the FF movies previously.

    F4 isn't a Marvel movie. It's in the X-Men movie universe.

I believe what he means is that Marvel owns the majority of the Marvel Universe characters but Sony owns Spiderman and Fox owns X-Men/Fantastic Four.

Yeah, that's what I meant. But show rights too, I believe, not just movies.

Basically Marvel was struggling for a really long time so they had to sell off rights to a lot of their major characters to stay afloat. There are caveats to these so they can revert back to Marvel ownership, like Ghost Rider. That's also the reason why this new Fantastic Four movie is getting pushed out. If they don't make one in a certain amount of time the rights go back to Marvel.

The four main characters are all 28 or older. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they're portraying teen geniuses or whatever, in the movie, either.

Good move by Fox, although I wish they would have just sold the rights back. Marvel is playing hardball has a moratorium on no longer producing any more FF stuff- no comics, no toys, nothing at all that will promote FF.

X-Men, on the other hand, is far too lucrative a property for Marvel to squelch outright, although you can see in the comics they're shifting the origin of powers from mutants to inhumans, which is something that Marvel DOES own the film rights to. The X-Men movies are a mixed bag, IMO, as even when they are done well (most recent X-Men movies), they still look dated as hell.

All of that said, I'm looking forward to FF as I really liked Chronicle (same director).

The marginalizing the XMen too. 10 years ago they were the keystones of the Marvel Universe
Now they are fringe characters. . . . villians to an extent
(they were in the most recent XMen versus Avengers from what I am told ]
