A great video interview with Snowden from the Guardian: Edward Snowden, the NSA whistleblower, talks exclusively to Alan Rusbridger, editor-in-chief of the Guardian, and reporter Ewen MacAskill in Moscow. The 31-year-old former intelligence analyst discusses whether he is a Russian spy, his likely fate if he returns to the US and the relevance of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four in the age of Google
One interesting bit is he gives a free endorsement to SpiderOak. They should be thanking him for that.
ya snowden isn't the greatest 'messenger' but he's better than most - i'd like to see him get a fair trial.
I don't know how one can be a great messenger. People claimed Wikileaks was wantonly careless with its disclosures. Snowden sent his files to the media and the same people are still on his ass for being a whistleblower. I think our society is conditioned pretty weirdly. It wasn't that we "progressed" in the 60s-70s but rather the public was encouraged to be vocally outraged by some authority like the media. Now that the mainstream media casts doubt or downplays Snowden (or Iraq Protests, Military Propaganda before and during Iraq II, our ****ed up food chain, etc), you don't see much activity to express the outrage or severity of the crimes.
