Here's the story being reported in Dallas.

Cuban found out the deal for CL and called Detroit to see if he could whip up a better deal for CL.

Cuban did this ala Stienbrener. He know Dallas will compete w/ Seattle for the last playoff spot. Believing that Ewing and Mo on Seattle will make them better, he nixed it. Without Detroit and LA, the deal fails. He doesn't consider Houston a threat and believes that Mo will leave Houston anyway.

I've been in DFW since Jan, and I like what I see of Cuban. He doesn't care bout money (he recieved 1.5 bil cash for Broadcast.com). He will find a place for CL.

I hope this opens the door for Mo to Houston.

Doesn't think Houston is a threat?

I will bet you (gentleman bet of course [IMG] we don't want CC.net to turn into Vegas) the Rockets will have a better record than the Mavs this coming season

    Cuban!!!!!!

Well what the heck can you say bad about the guy. He a billionaire. He is 100% comitted to making the Mavericks contenders.

And now you say he was responsible for botching the 4 team trade.

Cuban, there's a role model for you hey partner. Be like cuban and stop pretending to be Jim Rome. You just don't have the writters Jim has. Too much dumb smack!!!

    Partner stop the insanity!!!!!

The fans in Dallas expect thew Mavs to compete for the last playoff spot, especially if they land Laetner.

    Nash, Eisley
    Finley, H. Davis, C. Alexander
    Nowitzki, Ceballos
    Trent, CL, Etan Thomas
    Bradly

I think they will push for the eighth spot.

Colby, your a Mavericks fan right!

Geez, what would you do if the Mavericks don't vie for playoff home field advantage.

The Mavericks look sacry without Lattner. But, if you guys move the stick and insert Lattner at the Center position, that would be a very interesting team.

But here is the Rocket talk, the Rocket with Mo Taylor on the Rockets, watch out dallas.

Cato/hakeem at center would edge Lattner.

Taylor would have the slight advantage over the Dallas power forwards.

Walt can do his job against Nowitsky though Dirk would eat Walt alive.

Mobley and Anderson would contain and equal Finley's performance. But at least equal.

And the deciding factor, Francis would eat the whole Dallas Mavericks team alive twice.

But the Dallas bench is another team all toghether.

Here it is a slight edge to the Mavericks due to Rocket's inexperience. But you've got to play the game to see it all.

If Hakeem is healthy and Cato has been working out as has been said, you might want to change that from edge to destroy. [IMG]

Finley/Alexander should at least have the slight edge over Shandon/Mobley

    Nowitzki would destroy Walt

Mavs have PF edge with or without Mo

Rockets have small edge at center(unless Hak is healty or Cato really has improved)

But Dallas has no answer for Francis.

Without, I agree. However, if we get Mo I feel like Mo is better than Gary Trent by a good margin. They do have some depth also at PF, but personally I think Collier will turn out to be better than Etan Thomas so we'll have the advantage there as well probably.

I think Collier will be decent, but I don't think he is going to be that great this season. Just a hunch.

hmmm, but now that I think about it a little more, with Mo and KT, the Rocks would have a slight advantage.

    Whooooa. Can you guys read?

Nowhere in my post did I say I am a Mavs fan.
Nowhere in my post did I say the Mavs are better than the Rocks.

I am a diehard Rocks fan since Mcray, Sampson, Loyd, Lucas, Ried, Akeem(when he droped the H). My mother recieved her JD from UH. I used to go to games with her and my dad during Phi Slama Jama.

So don't dare call me a Mavs fan. I take insult. I was mearly adding to the conversation and giving a point of view from Dallas radio stations, pertaining to the nixed 4-way trade, that I thought was interesting.

If the Mavs get Laettner maybe we can get Donnell Harvey from them for cheap?

Damn... I bet all those people who dissed the Mavs feel silly now.

I'm glad I didn't check the board before Colby replied [IMG].

Hey what if our Langhi turns out to be like Nowitski? Then we would have the edge there as well [IMG]

You gotta be careful Colby [IMG]
You pay a team something resembling a compliment and you're no longer a rockets fan ??? Bad luck [IMG]

As for you Crisco, I blame all this on you! You're the kind of pathetic low life who would force a die-hard Rockets fan to admit to supporting another team.
You make me sick and I'm certain you make every other poster on the board sick!

I see a New Rivalry brewing up this year between the Rockets and Mavs. Both teams or on the up and coming while trying to position for the eight spot. What once were meaningless games against Dallas will now become emotional, physical, and hyped up a great deal. It ought to be fun down here in south Texas this winter boys. Yee-haw!
