Would you trade JJ for Matt Ryan? I honestly think a top 10 QB is worth more than an elite DE in this league. Imagine the hype going into this season for the Texans if we had Matt Ryan at QB.

Even a top 15 qb is more important than a DE.

With a prime schaub you won 11 games. JJ watt had a pretty good year last year and they went 2-14. The only position that really matters is QB.

I would only offer JJ Watt if one of the top QBs (Rodgers, Brees) were on the table.

Manning and Brady would obviously be on my list, but I don't know how much they both have left in the tank.

You say that, but look at what an elite offense with, perhaps, the best QB in the history of the league did against an elite defense last year. It's not all black and white.

with a prime schaub the texans were consistently an 8-9 win team, but lets only remember the 12 win year which also happens to be the same year that jj watt also won DPOY..

not trading the best defensive player in the league for a middle of the road top 10 qb.. top 10 dont mean much.. ryan has been in the same mold of schaub, could have probably fell anywhere from top 8-12 depending on the week they had. schaub or ryans status in the top 10 was never permanent..

But according to Brady and Rodgers that was not a championship defense and Foster and Johnson had a lot to do with those 12 wins as well.

The real question would be if Atlanta would want to make that trade and with quarterbacks being such a great commodity in the NFL _ I doubt that they would.

Most definitely. Falcons were fringe playoff contenders with Matty Ice at the helm despite their injuries.

Ryan doesn't make players better like Manning or Brees. Ryan relies on elite offensive players. When those players go down so does his performance. If Matt Ryan's best WR was Julian Edelman he'd be mediocre.

I'd trade Watt for Rodgers with confidence. That's about it. If it was up to BoB I imagine he'd only trade Watt for Rodgers, Wilson or Luck.

I agree with your assumption on Ryan relying on OW like jones ,Gonzalez ,white etc but I wouldn't trade watt for Wilson. I would trade him for luck or newton
