Gabriel Brener on verge of becoming majority owner of the Houston Dynamo http://www.fox26houston.com/sports/53816833-story
I don't know much about Brenner other than he was the most active and present of the owners. So, I'd think him becoming the majority owner would be a good thing. Hopefully he's prepared and financially able to invest in the on-field product.
I dunno if that's a great idea though. It's not like Lucatero got saw 1st team action at all after signing. I believe in his ability but I don't see Coyle being all Oscar Pareja and throwing him into the mix immediately. I figure they might send him down to RGV initially and then see if he's worth putting on a few team sheets as the season goes along next year. (My hope is that he impresses the crap out of Coyle during pre-season and makes it difficult for Coyle to send him to RGV or to leave him out of the 1st team as soon as the season begins). So true. They havent been great with homegrown talent (identifying, getting them signed, getting them 1st team action- I guess Ibeagha would've been a good one but he didn't take up the offers). The way they lucked into Stuart was just ridiculous. Fresh off his stint with Sunderland, recuperating from the eye injury, His late father and the rest of his fam were still in Houston. The Dynamo had just moved to Houston. DKinnear had that Scottish connection. It was just perfect. Hopefully things start panning out in the homegrown department. I've been hearing a bit about this Bradley Bourgeois kid at Tulsa. Supposed to be a top college CB. I never got to watch him play with any of the Dynamo Academy teams but folks I know that saw him play say he's quality at CB and the Dynamo would do well to bring him back into the fold as a professional.
Dynamo have declined options on 7 players for next season Most notable are Jermaine Taylor, Luis Garrido, and Alex Lopez
http://www.mlssoccer.com/transactions/2016 New England released Jermaine Jones, he's a free agent. Also, Tally Hall and Corey Ashe were released by Orlando.
Let's hope that next season they (including Cubo) are worth the money and put up big numbers on the field.
I think that indicates that they might actually be moving Cubo Because there is no point in signing Bruin if they aren't gonna do that The 3 of them seem to not be able to play on the field together. 1-2 of them are always out of position and just don't play well Now its time to pump money into the central defense and midfield
I think Bruin at $250K would have been a reasonable price. Low 300's isn't terrible though. But until we get somebody that can run the midfield it won't matter who the forwards are.
Let's not forget about the Colombian, Mauro Manotas, he may not stay here any longer or probably be on loan with another team.

Dynamo have acquired Cristian Maiden (#2 in MLS assists last season) and Andrew Wenger from the Philadelphia Union for general allocation money
On the 10th anniversary of AEG announcing they were moving the Earthquakes to Houston Gabriel Brenner (and a couple of other investors) has officially bought AEG out. http://www.fox26houston.com/sports/57635939-story
