I suspect FitzPatrict will be fine for the rest of the season . . .. well fine in that he will be who he has been.

I think we say some hope in Mallet but Nothing Solid yet

We only have the Coaches words on Savage. . .and well .. . mums has kind of been the word
They have said nothing terrible or nothing great . . . he coming along . . .as to be expected

    That Said.
    Barring something spectacular
Do we go into Next Season with these Three QBs on the Roster

Judging by the opinions here about the previous off season
There will probably be 'No One Better' available in Free Agency
[maybe RG3 but I don't see that happening]

Are we going to use a top [higher than Savage was picked pick] on a QB?
Some Odd reason I am not sure that will happen unless we REALLY get lucky and someone they are high on slips very far [which would probably make them rethink it
because if they slipping . . . there is a reason]
Top Picks may go to fill other holes [secondary? ]

If they weren't willing to reach on a QB last year, the odds are even less they'll reach this year.

It still comes down to shoring up needs, but still selecting a QB that has all the "other" tools that this staff clearly places more value in than simple "arm strength" or "speed".

If Fitz finishes the year strong, he's likely still got the job regardless of who else they bring in or who else they keep on the roster.

lol the same guys at QB?

Might as well replaced the Texans flag outside of NRG with a white flag

A good QB is our key to getting into the playoffs... not great, just good player controlling the offense

If the Texans keep Fitzpatrick next year and allow him to start then the entire staff should be fired.

Dunno. Glad I don't have to make that decision

We're not going anywhere without a decent qb

^honestly would've felt Mark Sanchez would've been better than shtzpatrick prior to this season. Ofc obrien didn't feel the same way and made a shtty decision to go with shtzpatrick... so doesn't matter what we think

But maybe Foles would be available.. hoyer would be upgrade over fitzpatrick too

Hoyer has been AWFUL...the 2nd half of the season. He is about to get benched.

No rookie will ever give you a better chance to win immediately, except if you find the next Andrew Luck. But if you ever want to win long-term, you're going to have to bite the bullet and develop a guy. That's one reason teams should address QB's ASAP instead of just waiting - because whenever you do find one, you're going to waste additional time while he's learning on the job. Better to start that process as quickly as possible.

I figured as much . . .. so Going with what we have. . . or even picking up a talented rookie
I think we are 'expecting to get lucky' but I don't think Superbowl Aspiration are at hand

I worry that we will be good enough to make the playoffs next year and the next
but never a threat for the superbowl . . .and no QB of the future in the pipeline.

Absolutely - it's one of the core problems with this whole franchise. Their "model" is to be awesome everywhere except the QB and hope the QB is good enough. That's crazy difficult to pull off and virtually impossible to sustain. They almost did it for one year with Schaub, but he got hurt and then they couldn't sustain it.

It takes more time and effort and risk to find a good QB to build around, but it makes your life a whole lot easier the following 10 years after you do it.

    Petty.

WR with the first to replace Andre', Petty in the 2nd. He wins the job in camp, plays 10 years.

Mallett already beat out Fitz for the starting job until he got injured. It will be Mallett starting with Fitz as his backup next season. I don't see any QB's that would be an upgrade in the draft where the Texans will be picking.

Fitz is better than Hoyer...I do not want Hoyer.

Texans need to draft a QB in the first or second round.

    Jameis might drop.

One more assault or gambling miscue and he's ours.

My opinion exactly. I predict that a healthy and very motivated Mallet starts and does well. Fizzle could be the back up, but I prefer that I never see him again after this season. In is really painful to watch the guy, even when the team is winning.
