Another one? Hmm. Ghost Protocol was cool. This looks pretty fun, too.

The last stunt is real. No CGI green screen bs. Cruise Missile always does his own stunts, and it's looking like he's topping his Burj Khalifa stunt from MI4.

Cruise really likes these science fiction/action films.

I don't really understand why people dislike him as an actor. He has done some pretty good lead roles as well as cameos! I'm looking at you Tropic Thunder.

    Agreed
As much isht as he gets
    He generally always delivers

probably the most consistant action star in the last 20yrs or so

Maybe he will do Expendables 5

Just my personal experience, but most folks I've talked to have no problem with him as an actor. Two things turn people off to him, I believe:

    1. Scientology
    2. He's still in the closet

people dont dislike him as an actor. His films make lots of money (even the ****ty ones like Knight and Day). People find him weird as a person cause of the Scientology.

How he can still be a convincing action star in his 50s is mind-boggling. Dude must be on the ultimate Hollywood anti-aging program. Great career. All that's missing is for Cruise to be the bad guy in a Fast and Furious movie (if they were going to do more).

All the MI movies have been good, probably getting better.

Edge of Tomorrow is one of his best films and everybody missed it.....

looking forward to this one, was a big fan of Ghost Protocol, sucks that Brad Bird didn't do this one, he did a phenomenal job, but I guess was too busy with Tomorrowland

btw, Jeremy Renner hit the jackpot as far as franchises, with this, the Bourne series, and Marvel Universe

has come a long way since his National Lampoon's Senior Trip days.....

    Looks solid.

He's definitely had a string of enjoyable movies lately. It's just a shame they haven't done better in theaters.

This looks pretty damn sweet, I've always liked Cruise as an actor, honestly could care less about his personal life so it's never been a drawback to me.

If you haven't seen Edge of Tomorrow do yourself a favor and check it out.

Dude is definitely underrated IMO. I'm not sure what anti aging crap him and Brad Pit must be on but they both still look to be in their 30's even though I know they are both in their 50's. I have a lot of respect for him doing some of those stunts, real adrenalin stuff there. He is definitely one of the most versatile actors of our time; Borne on the 4th of July, The Color of Money, Top Gun, Rain Man, Jerry Maguire and a bit part in Tropical Thunder where he was hilarious. The guy has been solid to absolutely great for decades now.

IMO the things that have put a damper on him have been scientology, the Oprah incident and Eyes Wide Shut. The rumors that the Scientology Church forced him to divorce Nicole Kidman were just crazy. His movies have pretty much always been solid.

The 2nd MI movie was the only one that I really didn't care for much but Ghost Protocol was really good. Looking forward to this one.

By the way, I have to drop the final scene in Tropical Thunder here, spoiler for language.

Wilfred Brimley was younger when he filmed Cocoon than Tom Cruise is now.

Agree on all accounts. E of T was incredibly fun, a real surprise.

And agree on separating the personal life. Since I never look at TMZ or People magazine, I don't even know about all that side stuff anyway. Meh. Entertaining action and sci-fi; he knows his own strengths and he sticks to that.

By the way, somebody mentioned his last 20 years. Top Gun was released... 29 years ago. Whoa.
