Obviously grew up on the guy but I wonder if anyone's lined up to do the play by play after he retires from the biz. Gotta be somewhat soon. I know he's caught some flak for being a homer but call me Bart cause I enjoyed listening to him all these years. Hope we can win a 'ship before he leaves.
Never. Morey is currently working on Worrell bot. The only way Bill Worrell leaves is if Jim Ross takes his spot.
Why is this even a question? As long as Bill can lace them up and make it to his chair on the sidelines, he should be calling the games. Bill's "problems," if someone insists on finding a couple, consist in the guys sitting next to him, particularly at home. Park Calvin Murphy next to Bill and those "problems" instantly go away, in my humble opinion. Murph is the cure!
Worrell is a legend! I hope he doesn't retire soon because that's a great voice lost. I wonder who could replace him... Bull is good but I don't think he would be good in Worrell's role as color commentator. If JVG ever gets tired of the travel of being a ESPN commentator and doesn't want to coach, we push hard for him to be the next voice of Houston Rockets Basketball! hahaha
I don't want Bill to retire even if he goes senile. I can't imagine anyone else doing the Rockets play by play.
I love Bill too. Seriously I have a hard time watching our games on espn because the commentators are just so boring. I love Bill and Bulls little catch phrases and the nick names they give, if Bill left it wouldn't be the same, there would be something missing from the games.
Bill has almost completely lost it but he has a lifetime pass, he can decide how long he wants to stay, he has earned that. As long as Clyde isn't around, bull balances him out just fine
Bill definetly deserves a lifetime pass, but man, it's has become harder to listen to him over the past couple of years. I know he's a die hard Rockets fan and he can get emotional just like us fans, but his whining over some of the most obvious fouls really gets on my nerves.
