Texans defensive numbers via Reddit: Texans are also the number one team in terms of scoring/per drive defense at 23%. Jacksonville is the worst at 55%
Thanks for the stats, it seems that our O line has been really poor and Fitz was better last week than most gave him credit for. Those incredibly low run blocking scores explain why the run game didn't get going till the 2nd half. Those guys need to do better.
+15 for Watt! This man is not human. Absolutely unbelievable. If we even sniff the playoffs and he isn't top 3 in the MVP race, then the whole system is messed up.
"According to Pro Football Focus, Swearinger has missed five tackles on run plays this season, third most of any safety in the league that week, and has stops only 4.5 percent of the time, ranking him 36th among safeties. In coverage, Swearinger ranks 57th with 13.1 coverage snaps per reception. The leader among safeties is the Carolina Panthers' Thomas DeCoud, who had 116 coverage snaps per reception."
Is there a season total for these numbers? How about a NFL rankings for positions...it would be interesting to see where some of our players rank.
At this rate, we're going to need to bench Swearinger soon. He hasn't done anything to warrant a long leash. Thanks, Rick.
Brian Cushing - Cushing’s 12 stops from 24 tackles give him a 10.3 Run Stop Percentage, seventh-best among qualifying inside linebackers.
Poor fundamentals. He's ALWAYS trying to tackle with one arm while swiping at the ball with the other. I compare it to what JVG calls a fake hustle play.
Boy is it going to be frustrating when Watt misses out on DPOY, even after maintaining these historic advanced stat measurements, because he falls short of the sack or total tackles lead. Per PFF, JJ had a better season last year than he did when he won DPOY (I remember reading that somewhere), but Kuechly sure did amass a bunch of tackles!
I think people are starting to catch on that sacks aren't the be-all end-all defensive stat. And it's because of PFF. I'm hearing more people in the media this year talking about QB hits as a stand-alone stat than I can ever remember.
Man, I sure hope you are right. We are all witnesses to greatness here and it shouldn't go without reward.
