    01 Lakers in 6 or 7 games.

Shaq at that point would be too much for Dwight and Pau. Though, Kobe against Kobe might cancel each other out. Would be an interesting battle between Young (superstar) Kobe vs. Older (legend) Kobe.

The 2012-13 Lakers have a better starting lineup, but the 2000-01 Lakers have a better bench.

Young Kobe and Prime Shaq > Old Kobe, Old Nash, Dwight
In a series it would be 4-1.

Prime Shaq and Kobe were the two best players in the NBA. It was almost unfair.

This, Shaq would destroy Dwight and it wouldn't be funny.

I also have Lakers 2000-01 winning in 5 or 6 games.

It would also be interesting to see how Phil's Triangle and 2012-13 Lakers Princeton Offense would play out.

I actually think the present day Lakers would win. Shaq is a beast, no doubt, but Howard can defend him adequately. The Howard/Gasol combo will be deadly, and Nash is a huge upgrade over fisher.

    lol...... Shaq would destroy Dwight.

You don't even have to bring up Kobe because of how great prime Shaq was compared to how Dwight is now.

Dwight and Pau are going to compliment each other very well.

Nash to Pau PnR will be money.

Dwight can won't be the go to offensive guy, so his D will be even better.

Kobe is going to get to play off the ball more, his shooting % will be higher than it has been in years.

Oh and Ron will have one job, guard the best wing player. That's it.

Pass the ball to Shaq inside then sit down and relax. Shaq will destory Howard. Yao destroyed Howard. And don't get me going with Hakeem, Robinson, etc.

Your first three points are good, your last two, not so much. Kobe is a horrible off-ball player, as we are seeing in this Olympics (and the last one), as well as the last time he had a superteam in 2004, when he shot like 43% because he wasn't able to "get in rhythm" (aka shotjack). I mean, he was surrounded by prime Shaq and two very solid stars in Payton and Malone and he still couldn't shoot well? Why would you think an older, more crippled Kobe would do better coming off his least efficient season yet?

And Artest is completely done. He's never been the type to want to only play defense (ala Rodman); he's going to want touches and the only thing he'll get is open threes that he has shown he can't hit. Artest, like Kobe, like Nash, needs the ball somewhat to be effective.

Definitely the 2000 team, mainly cause Howard can't hold a candle to Shaq
