What would your ideal political party be like? Neither democrats nor Republicans are really represent me. I wish there was a party that is a "true" fiscal conservative and social liberal party.

Here are some of the things I want my politcial party to stand for:

smaller government (reduce government waste, no more porks!)

    reduce national debt

    less tax for everyone

    less interventions world wide

    improve public education system

do not try to bring religous moral values into government (seperation of chruch and state)

Help the unfortunate without trying to create incentives for people not to try to succeed

    control guns

    do not legalize drugs

I wonder why the moderates from both parties cann't come together and form a third party, I bet it would be more popular than both the democrat and republican party

I want an honest political party.

All the other stuff we'll work on later.

I agree with all of these but two, both of which conflict with the one you have upsized (smaller government).

Gun control and drug prohibition are two things that bloat the government and do not accomplish their stated goals. Neither program has done a whit to reduce access to drugs or guns and both programs have seen access to the "evil" they decry INCREASE rather than decrease.

Other than that, you are spot-on.

BTW, John Stewart had a very interesting guest on the other night named John Avlon. Avlon wrote a book called Independant Nation and spoke very passionately about how moderates need to take control of the country back from the extremists.

Ev’rywhere I hear the sound of marching, charging feet, boy
’cause summer’s here and the time is right for fighting in the street, boy
But what can a poor boy do
    Except to "BE.. REASONABLE!!!"
    ’cause in sleepy american town
There’s just no place for a street fighting man
    No

Hey! think the time is right for a white house revolution
But where I live the game to play is compromise solution
Well, then what can a poor boy do
    Except to "BE.. REASONABLE!!!"
    ’cause in sleepy american town
There’s no place for a street fighting man
    No

Hey! said my name is called disturbance
I’ll shout and scream, I’ll kill the president, I’ll rail at all his servants
Well, what can a poor boy do
    Except "BE.. REASONABLE!!!"
    ’cause in sleepy american town
There’s no place for a street fighting man
    No

We will call it the People for the Ethical Treatment of Humans

    1. Our president will serve as an infantry soldier in any military action without preferential treatment (front lines).
    2. Our congressmen will match dollar for dollar all monies of the federal budget out of their own pocket. All other monies to be raised will be left to state govt.
    3. Our Judges will read the constitution and not make any ruling other than can be made by a direct quotation of the constitution, they will not have power to add any wording of their own. All other cases must be settled in state court.
    4. Our salaries will be set by popular vote to the limit of funds collected.
    5. We will never borrow money.
    6. We will have a free will collection taken from the people on a volunteer basis once each year and what ever comes in will be the amount of foreign aid given out including funds to the U.N.

Idealy it would be one supporting a monarchy for the U.S. We would determine what constitued royalty, elect the first king/queen, or have a parliment that would do it, and then let the fun begin.

There isn't enough fun in politics. Plus with all the talk about the president being someone people like, and not so much focus on the issues, perhaps a figurehead position would work out nicely. Though in honesty my monarchy party would lobby for some powers to be given to the monarch.

The wash is out, it's hanging up
And all I have is nothing
Nothing to do, nothing to say
I think I must be dreaming

The sun comes up and I'm all washed out
Is this what Deaner was talkin' about
I don't think I will ever return again my friend

If I was king I'd wear a ring
    And never hurt my people
I'd stay alert and dress to kill
I might even slip you something

I'd prefer an Emperor/Empress to a king/queen. That title to me has always seemed to carry more weight with me.

An emperor would not be beholden to any special interests, voting blocks, etc. It would be nice to have a system where the lawmakers or rulers don't have to pander for votes every 2-4-6 years.
