If that is all there is to it, so pouting over playing time, and he refuses to practice or play for the Vipers, let him go. What are the rules for a player failing to follow regular NBA protocol? Can he be fired / his contract voided?

Responsibility is a two way street. White said he wasn't suffering from his anxiety at the time of training camp, so he was holding out as a negotiating tactic for his special accomodations, accomodations that could have been negotiated while attending camp. McHale's "He should be here" comment seemed insensitive at face value, but not when we discovered the reason for White's absence. The Rockets have a responsbility to help White with his illness, but they also have a reasonable expectation for him to perform.

We know White has skipped camp, several practices, and games. He missed camp without approval. White repeatedly claims the Rockets have not met their responsibilites, but hasn't listed a single instance.

Missing training camp, even admits has missed practice, can tweet. Demands playing time.

Also, keep in mind that Coach McHale is currently dealing with an actually life-threatening health situation in his family.

Of course, Royce White uses this "opportunity" to make it all about himself and his alleged disorder.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if medical experts were to determine that there is no real medical disorder, other than an unbelievable sense of entitlement and self-absorption.

I think there is some "confusion" as to what is going on but I don't see how you think he's doing the right thing by going full on twitter.

I personally blame White and the coaching staff, since based off the reports and reading between the lines, both parties have made mistakes and are causing issues with the other that are now affecting the franchise.

Keep him. Fine him. Let him rot. Don't give him a chance to go somewhere else. Teach him how the adult world works.

Why can't he bear full responsibility? When he shoplifted, assaulted a mall cop, and broke into an apartment and stole a laptop. Were those actions partly to blame on another party too?

    Watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRUS6QBiViQ

On draft day, as Royce was dropping quickly, his agent called him to tell him the Rockets are about the only team still looking at using a first round pick on him. Speaking about the Rockets' draft room, the agent tells Royce: "The rest of the room is against you. The rest of the room, other than McHale, says you're too risky." According to the agent, the rest of the league was ready to take a pass on White, through the entire first round.

Also in the video: White shows up at a draft day party thrown by his own supporters and family, and then can't stay with them; he needs to hide off in a nearby coach's office because he's so uncomfortable.

My understanding is the agent had bad info on that.

If Feigen's information is true, then it certainly smells more like Royce has a sense of entitlement more than the Rockets aren't living up to their end of the bargain.

Saying you haven't had the opportunity to "earn minutes" just doesn't cut it when you're missing practices and games. He clearly is going to be behind the curve in terms of learning the playsets and knowing his team mates.

I'm sure in his mind he believes he deserved a higher draft place and was entitled to a rotation spot.

I'm sure the coaches looked at the roster and saw a whole bunch of people who were MORE ready than Royce to play.

He should have just smiled, shut up, and gotten to work proving he deserved a spot. That's what a would have set a REAL example.

Anyone notice the D-League's tweet/article about the rockets' player assignments? No white mention to be found. It's like he doesn't even exist.
