I guess I really have to thank JCDenton for his b****ing about Advanced Stats lacking graphs. And everyone who reviewed screenshots and gave feedback, JustAGuy. Please use the Dashboards at the top of the display to change between viewing modes. More to come in the near future!

    That's pretty cool.

But I'm more concerned with what happened to my Right Mouse Button vs what happens to Kirk Hinrich.

But anyhoots, can I use this for scoring my Lebron James/Kam ticket Lottery giveaway.

Morey infused this place with stat geeks... Yao brought China with him. Chuck Hayes even brought a fan over once. Crazy organism this BBS.

This is really something else!! JTR, you got me. Whenever you post something, I read it carefully. I love it, when there is really some substance behind an opinion and what you do is way beyond an opinion.

Graphs are like lights on a house at christmas time. Pretty pointless when it is daytime and the house is easy to see, but really cool when it's night and the house is in the dark.

Cool beans. I use Tableau for work stuff and hate it. Good to know it can be used for something interesting.

jtr, can you elaborate a bit more on how we can make use of this tool to understand player production/contribution better?

There are 2 major sources of information for calculating expected wins next season RAPM (viewed to be the most reliable) and WS (and three if you want to bring in WoW, and four if you want to include Ortg and dRtg, which I have not done so yet.) So you can select the Rockets on the Advanced Stats view and see where they stand. The gut reaction is of course that they need to improve first the PF spot, then the PG spot ... You can then go to the Salary view and look at point guards that make about as much as Lin. There is a slider that can set the salary range. You can then cross check WS and RAPM to make sure that they would actually be an improvement. This is a simple example. Isn't that better than ESPN trade? The possibilities are perhaps endless.
