rumors that their may be a 3rd team involved. would make sense, as i'm sure that's where reyes would go. wasn't somebody just mentioning how rare 3-team trades are in MLB?
20 yr old flamethrower and kid will develop into an absolute stud IMO: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Miguel Castro likely going to <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Rockies?src=hash">#Rockies</a> in the Tulowitzki blockbuster, source says. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/BlueJays?src=hash">#BlueJays</a></p>— Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) <a href="https://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/625901240086499328">July 28, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Oh that'd be so perfect. And then teach P Tuck how to play 1st base for goodness sake. Springer RF Altuve 2B Correa SS Gonzalez LF Gattis DH Lowrie 3B Tucker 1B Rasmus/Marisnick Platoon CF Castro/Conger Platoon C
jeez, now they're saying jeff hoffman is in the trade too? there has to be something else involved, like reyes going somewhere else, and the jays getting a pitcher from that team.

Castro...and I've read that there might be one more player coming to COL. Rockies fans need to rejoice, this is could be the end of an era but a new beginning. It's about time their FO TRULY rebuilt. If they flip Reyes for some solid value, I'll like what they've done. Now just send us one of CarGo, Blackmon or hey...even Dickerson.
IMO...he is the number 2 prospect in arguably the deepest (not top heavy) system in all of baseball. He shouldn't be moved unless it is a BIG piece coming back in return.

From the next-to-last sentence in that article, I'd say Jon Heyman doesn't understand the concept of leverage.
Yeah, that clearly all this whole Hamels issue is. We were one of the teams that was on his no trade list before the year, so if you can leverage that into having your option picked up, it's common business sense to do so. I highly doubt he simply doesn't want to play in Houston. If it was that open and shut we wouldn't still be interested. I don't think we're gonna blink on the option, so it will be up to Philly to either give him a Houston or nowhere ultimatum, or kick in money to help pay for the option.
Both from that possible standpoint, and, if philly were to tell him "houston or you stay here", he can just say "fine, i'll stay here". Then are they just going to refuse all the other good offers from teams that he's willing to go to just to spite him?
Or we could just as easily be trying to run up the price for him, particularly since the Rangers seem to be a front runner for his services.
Probably not, I think Philly will blink. Philly would then have to decide how much money would they be willing to kick in to get that option picked up by us. Trading him to a team that isn't on his no trade list is clearly preferable for them, which is why i don't think this deal happens even if we have the best package. Luhnow isn't gonna pay a prospect premium nor is he gonna pick up what will likely be a very bad option year without compensation.
Ross and Hamels are comparable goods. Ross is basically 75% the value of Hamels at 25-35% the salary (Very rough numbers, but should be ball park). Astros could be doing a reverse bidding war to get Philly to pay a larger portion of Hamels's contract or for SD to take less prospects if Philly is willing to chip in money.

Not sure how much we want to mess with the current chemistry But a controllable McHugh could bring back a nice rental bat I bet And might make sense if we are gonna add another starter with our prospects
was thinking the same. Figured he might even be part of the SP deal to cut down prospects going out. I would much prefer to keep him, but if we think we can keep Kaz and get another SP that's signed, that's 4 slots locked down. McHugh has to be considered expendable.
