looking back at the bud norris trade, can you really say we won that trade? Norris is pitching decent sporting a sub 4 era in the al east, while LJ hoes seems like a bust. I can assume most here would be thrilled if Hader became a sub 4 era starter in the mlb
Nope, it was a good trade for the Astros. First, a sub 4 era isn't as special as it was a decade ago. Second, Norris is close to free agency and Hader has a real chance to be a good pitcher under the Astros control for years. Guys like Bud Norris don't matter when you are rebuilding. It isn't like we let Clayton Kershaw go.
I'm guessing that Derek Fisher may have something to say about this trade. The assets acquired in the Bud Norris trade were (in order of importance): 1) Josh Hader 1a) The 37th pick in the 2014 MLB Draft (Derek Fisher) 3) L.J. Hoes Fisher could end up being the best player involved on either side of that trade.
Far too early to tell. The comp pick is way more important to a rebuilding team than a contending team. Fisher and Hader could end up being a huge haul for Norris.
