http://politicalwire.com/archives/2012/03/12/deep_south_voters_still_think_obama_is_a_muslim.html Idiots.
Doesn't really say much about where these voters came from but to claim they represent the majority is kind of a misleading.
I think people probably responded that way because they hate Obama simply because he has a D in front of his name and they dont agree with his policies. So their response on someone they do not agree with or like is simply resort to name calling like many of us on this board. So in their opinion calling him a Muslim is a bad thing and that he sucks. Thats all there is to it.
That is how polling works. Whether you agree with that basic system or not is up to you, but smallish sample sizes have always been used to derive the opinions of the many. To those wondering if it could be true that so many could be so stupid, particularly among right-leaning voters, I posted a poll about a year ago in which a majority or at least plurality of Republicans believed that Obama was a Muslim and was not born in the USA and also still believed that Iraq attacked us on 9/11. Republicans, especially southern ones, are not all idiots. But a plurality of them are.
I don't think you can just generalize a certain voting block as idiots. You can basically say that about a large number of Obama supporters or people who vote Democrat. Don't think I need to post the video of Obama supporters and the infamous lady of Obama is going to pay my rent and car payment. I think you just have to realize that most people are below avg intelligence and that there are a huge group of idiots from all walks of life
not Muslim -- instead he chose to take his spiritual advice from this guy <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9hPR5jnjtLo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Your defense to polling that shows that more Republicans believe Obama is Muslim than don't believe it is to mention video of certain supporters? The Republicans have consistently polled over the last few years as believing things that are demonstrably untrue -- let's just use Iraq and 9/11 if you don't want to acknowledge the fact of Obama's citizenry or Christianity. The Democrats have not. People that believe things that are patently untrue, no matter what the evidence, are idiots. Yes, you can find some Democrats that are idiots. A **** ton of them. But not a majority and not a plurality that believe something that is factually incorrect on any issue whatsoever. Democrats and Republicans are not the same in this arena. Democrats believe in facts; Republicans do not.
I don't know, a voting block that consistently holds aloft a presidential candidate condemning universities as "liberal indoctrination mills" to be avoided while holding multiple degrees himself definitely seems idiotic to me.
I posted earlier why I believe these type of polls shows these results. The people polled simply hate Obama no matter what he does or says and by saying they believe he is Muslim is their way of saying he sucks and cant be trusted not simply because they really believe he is Muslim. The poll question could have very well been "Do you think Obama sucks?" You seem like a pretty reasonable poster but how can anyone take you seriously if you make general statements like that.
Because my general statement is based in fact. We have many polls demonstrating that Republicans believe things that are definitively not true and zero that show that Democrats do. If you disagree, I would like to see the evidence. If you can't provide the evidence (and guess what: you can't), why should I be taken less seriously for simply stating a fact? I understand that the right believes that people that go to college or read newspapers are elitist, though that is insane, but what exactly is the right's beef with facts?
what about all the liberals that are fine with killing innocent, unborn babies, under the guise of "women deserve a choice to kill their baby"? pwn3d
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_Policy_Polling I'm sure many Republicans believe that Obama is a Muslim, just like many leftist believe that 911 was an inside job. Conspiracy nuts on both sides.
