[RealGM RUMOR] Toronto Raptors called about Shane Battier

I've been refreshing all week. Its not gonna stop till feb 19

 

So, aside from the old "let's trade Battier for expirings junk", why would we want any of those guys?

 

Are any of those players expiring, if not, no thanks. We can build a package around Battier, they can offer us Bosh Obviously kidding, they're looking for a piece to upgrade their team to make a run this year.

None of their role players fit our needs.

 

Remember last year, i've never been that crazy about refreshing, and sure enough at the last minute. If we don't make a deal, it will be hard to watch a 9th seed all season. I'd like to see morey do some flipping, much like what he did with batum, then arthur. 2 good trades can equal a great t

 

And... who are those young prospects Toronto's giving us? Patrick O'Bryant? I'm sorry, Toronto has no one the Rockets should have interest aside from the obvious center.
I have no interest in trading Battier for the junk Toronto's dealing with, and Shane is hardly done as a Rocket. Where the heck you draw that conclusion anyways? It's clear management likes him a lot.

 

I don't see anything I would want on their roster that can be obtained for Battier...

I would rather trade Battier & Dorsey to Oklahoma City Thunder....

Ready to deal! Shane is a great guy, but I would love to see him move on. It would be a timely move, depending, of course, on who came to the Rockets in return.

 

He is valuable,but unless management gets a solid replacement for McGrady,his role will continue to diminish slowly. I agree the prospects here are useless for us. Young players who can play on both ends with genuine upside are what we need as a replacement for him,and that won't be easy.

 

There is nothing on that roster, other than Bosh, that the Rockets should be remotely interested in.

 

Bargnani would be a good fit for the Rockets especially when Yao comes back. I doubt Raptors want to trade him though.

 

Battier for Demar Derozan.

 

You know that would be a darn terrible move! We need shooters. Derozan is not a proven scorer and has terrible decision-making skills. At least with Shane, you know you'll get great defense and a couple of 3s from the corner.

 

DD(Demar DeRozan that is) and Trevor Ariza wouldn't get along.

Scratch that, DD(here on CF) doesn't "get along" with Ariza either

 

Battier, Landry, Andersen, and Cook for Bosh. That's it.

 

None of those players are Demar Derozan or Chris Bosh, so no deal.
