I was just driving around I-45 and saw a Chevron with Unleaded gas $2.69 Plus $2.79 Super $2.87 Is getting crazy .... I dont even want to drive now unless I have too..
This is gasoline your talking about, right? That stuff you put in your car to make it go places? Good Lord!
I'd comment, but then this would end up in D&D. Glad my Honda van, with it's 255 hp V6, gets 24 MPG. Looks pretty groovy right now. Well, groovier than reading about a multi-billion dollar pork giveaway to oil companies by Congress, when they're rolling in record profits from these same prices. Whoops.
but yet you still pay more for bottled water... gas here is $1.10CDN/litre...don't know the exact conversion of the dollar or the gallon or whatever...but i'm pretty sure it's more expensive here - so be happy.
Exactly. And how much for a large Coke at a movie theatre? We should be grateful we got by this long paying the prices we did.
the gas station down the street from me in austin has it for 2.35 and 9/10 and it's usually just about the cheapest gas i see anywhere in town (i did see it beat by 2 cents at a station recently, but i think it was an aberration in the time they moved their prices). it was like 2.19 a little while ago and when it went up to 2.25, i decided to hold off on filling up b/c i thought it would go back down or at least stay even after such a jump. then it just exploded to the 2.35 mark a few days later and eventually i had to fill up so i just put in 5 gallons today with the hope it'll go back down. it's amazing how much money i waste on other crap but then i worry about a few pennies a gallon on gas. i think it's some sort of thrill i get from either filling up just after it's gone down a little or getting in just before they raise the price. like i'm happy i beat the system or something and not b/c i saved 50 cents on a fillup. and luckily i have a corolla so i get like 28-30 mpg.
Close. I'm talking about Honda in general. They, along with Toyota, make good gas efficient cars. I got an Accord and I get pretty good mileage.
D'oh! That's right around the corner from me and is my gas station of choice for my weekly fill ups on Sunday. Time to find a new one.
I bought quite a bit of a gas refinery stock (VLO) quite a few months back to soften the blow. I watch it daily as to not lose too much of my profits since most of this is driven by media hype. But this company is making more money than they know what to do with. Now I actually smile when the price goes up. If you can't beat them, join them.
