I can't stand Owl City. I don't really care about him sounding like Death Cab or Postal Service. What bugs me is that his lyrics sound like they are written by a 7-year old and yet, adults still love his music. Vanilla Twilight Example: The stars lean down to kiss you, And I lie awake I miss you, Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere. Cause I'll doze off safe and soundly, But I'll miss your arms around me I'll send a postcard to you dear, Cause I wish you were here. You have got to be kidding me. Am I the only one who feels dumber after listening to this crap?
Chill out, man. I happen to absolutely love Owl City, not because of their lyrics, but because of their sound and music. Most of their lyrics don't make complete sense, but they are fun. If you want to listen to a story in the form of a song, listen to country. If you want to listen to something fun, stick with Owl City. Plus, it IS their first ever album. Cut them some slack.
Shaq's "cameo" was so completely random. At least put another basketball player in there, or a celebrity, perhaps.
You have got to admit he stole his sound from the postal service and I'm not even really a fan of postal service. I mean absolutely everything, from the music itself to the vocals. such a blatant rip off, and whenever it is brought up in an interview, he denies even ever listening to postal service before which is ridiculous. I can't respect this guy, he is not original at all.
