Pretty impressive how detailed this game is going to be, not only with the physical features of the custom characters you can make, but their basketball styles. <div style="width: 480px;"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=54772"/><param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=54772" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object><div style="font-size: 10px; font-family: Verdana; text-align: center; width: 480px; padding-top: 2px; padding-bottom: 2px; background-color: black; height: 32px;"><div><a style="color:#FFFFFF;" href="http://www.gametrailers.com" title="GameTrailers.com">Video Games</a> | <a style="color:#FFFFFF;" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/game/11909.html" title="NBA 2K10">NBA 2K10</a> | <a style="color:#FFFFFF;" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/54772.html" title="Exclusive Draft Combine Trailer">Exclusive Draft Combine Trailer</a></div><div style="padding-top: 3px;"><a style="color:#FFFFFF;" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/platformlist/xb360/index.html" title="XBox 360">XBox 360</a> | <a style="color:#FFFFFF;" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/platformlist/ps3/index.html" title="PS3">Playstation 3</a> | <a style="color:#FFFFFF;" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/platformlist/wii/index.html" title="Wii">Nintendo Wii</a></div></div></div>
I bet you still can't make the faces look like whoever you want. I know it looks like there are more options, but I basically won't believe it until I see it for myself.
I made a thread about this last week or so. The draft combine seems cool to me. From the video you posted, it will be available on wed on 360.....sweetness!
Well, it's finally coming out tomorrow morning. Anyone else getting this? I'm trying to decide what position my first character should play... I'm thinking PG.
So this game is gonna have Ramon Sessions as a Milwaukee Buck or something? Well, I guess with the online updating of rosters it doesn't matter how early it comes out. Still kind of weird.
Sounds like a cool concept I still wish they made this video game real: http://www.sportsonastick.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=274&catid=274&Itemid=112
Well, this isn't the official game, NBA2K10, which comes out in October. It's a separate game allowing you to create and train a character through summer league games and such. When the official game comes out, you can import your player into the game. It's something to keep me busy til October.
I just got done playing some 2k8 online and remembered why I did not buy 2k9. Everyone online plays like b****es. they either exclusively shoots 3s or they just dribble to the basket with Kobe and dunk every time. It's annoying as ****. I think I'll still prolly get this.
good, but how did they do that? I was playing a guy today and he had Tim Duncan shoot 4-5 from 3. I still won by almost 20, but its sooo annoying. Did they make Kobe and Lebron less invincable?
A majority of people that I've played don't play like that in 2k9; maybe I'm lucky. Defense has definitely improved; it's a lot hardly to penetrate if you play defense well. Kobe and LeBron are almost invincible, but only if the player knows how to use them well... I've had some games where I would them out of rhythm (cold/blue) with double teams and zone defenses.
I consider myself pretty descent at the game and I can guard almost anyone in 2k8, except for Kobe and Lebron. Both of them have the ability to walk to the basket and dunk without being knocked off balance, losing the ball, or anything. I'm glad to hear they improved the defense. The way I play offense is based on movement, but everyone else pretty much plays a 1-on-1 game.
Finally a one player career mode. I have been waiting for that for years. Will this also be on the PC?
IIRC, yes. I read that it will have an online mode too, and still only $20. Can't find the link though (think it maybe was from Twitter). edit: Oh wait, I forgot this thread was about the Draft Combine specifically, not NBA 2K10. Don't think the Draft Combine will be out for the PC, although I may have missed talks about that. Maybe it will be part of the game itself...
Operationsports.com had a chance to get some play time with 2K10 and here are their impressions. Pretty impressive. http://www.operationsports.com/feature.php?id=933
Glad to hear about the massive defensive improvements, better court spacing, more tendencies (sucks for roster/slider editors), and improved post play. I have been getting 2K for years now but this year EA seemed to really be going all out for NBA Live. I was getting worried but it appears 2K stepped up to the plate. Usually developers wait until the opposing company puts out a better game, but 2K is trying to preempt it. BTW to anyone here who plays 2K9 without sliders and custom rosters from operationsports.com you need to ASAP. Its a completely different game. The guys in that community are gameplay wizards and fine-tune the game until it performs like a sim. It wasn't until about 2 months ago that I found a suitable roster/slider set for the PS3. Now it plays like the best NBA game of all-time. When people say 2k8 was the superior game I immediately know they never played 2k9 with custom sliders/rosters. Oh and on Live, they are syncing a ridiculous amount of ratings/tendencies to Synergy. They are moving away from "overall ratings" and more towards statistical, real-time, based attributes. This year it goes as far as saying if Kobe drives left 33% of the time, then thats factored in. Basically what they ushered in last year they are refining. 2K added 82games, we'll see how that goes...
Thanks RC Cola, I knew you would respond I'm looking forward to NBA2K9 and hope that this will also be part of it.
