Beat Clippers: Home court in first round (likely) !

    If I am reading all the scenarios correctly all the Rockets have to do is beat the Clippers and more than likely they will have home court advantage.

    If the Spurs beat the Jazz, and the Rockets beat the Clippers we have home court as the number 5 seed over the Jazz.

    If the Jazz win over the Spurs and we beat the Clippers, the Jazz are the 3 seed and (assuming Phoenix wins too) The Rockets are the number 5 seed with Home Court against the Suns.

    The only way for us to win and NOT get home court is for the Jazz to win, and for the Suns to lose to Portland....

    Then we open up agains the Spurs on the road.

    So, I like our chances at homecourt.....

    Is this confirmed? Everything I've been reading and hearing up until now seemed to indicate the only way we'd have home court is your first scenario: Rockets beat the Clips and Spurs beat the Jazz.

    But now people are saying a 4-way tie at 55-27 leaves the Suns and Rockets in the 4th and 5th seed.

    I'm very confused right now. I'm wondering if even David Stern knows the answer to this one.

    Feigan is wrong in the play the Spurs bit, I emailed him explaining his mistake...because in that scenario...the Spurs winning they go to the third seed, Utah is 4th, and Houston and Phoenix tie for 5th....with Houston having the tie breaker over the Suns....thus we are 5th with HCA over the Jazz.

    So wait a minute. The Jazz can have the number 4 seed and the Rockets can have the number 5 seed and the Rockets still get the home court advantage due to a better record? Then what the hell is the point of seeding the Spazz 4? What's the point of seeding at all?

    Division winner are automatically a top 4 seed....and yes, they would be the 4 and we would be the 5 with HCA ...just like last year.

    wtf, I don't see anything in there that says anything about playoff seedings, standings etc. seems like all in-game rules.

    What are you talking about?

    If the Rockets win, they are most likely going to be getting HCA......

    I'm pretty sure we will win, at least we should. The key is San Antonio-Utah...Go Spurs :)

    I want the Jazz to win........so Houston can get the Suns and HCA in the first round.

    Of course, it will all depend on how motivated Popovich is towards HCA.....he could just rest his regulars and let the Jazz win......but by doing that he forfeits HCA ......

    Gonna be interesting to see.

    I don't care who we play or where the first 2 games are as long as we play at the same level of intensity displayed during the 22 win streak. The defensive effort has been pathetic the past month...
