Are we just gonna pretend that Randy Bullock isn't still our kicker?

Ahhh...I figured that with my comment, someone would speak up without really knowing what they're talking about. Listen to Cannonball's explanation. You have more difficult angles to deal with in college.

The other thing to remember about Fat Randy is that Kubiak didn't do him any favors either. Only 1 kicker in the entire league attempted more kicks over 40 yards than Bullock did last year. He never missed anything under 40. Now I'm not saying that he had a good year, because he didn't, but he's not as bad as some folks seem to think. He needs to improve his range, but he has enough leg to do that. If he doesn't he probably won't be around long, but my guess is that he'll be healthy enough to do much better this year.

I figured you'd realize that you don't have the same type of rush coming at you in college, giving you more time to kick it...also that Bullock kicked in college too and did a better job of it than Boswell then as well. He has next to no chance to make the team.

Bumping this to show some appreciation for Mr. Bullock. I myself was very much in the Randy needs to get the F outta here crowd but he's 19/20(the one miss was a block) and that 55 yarder today was very much clean. Props to Randy for becoming a competent NFL kicker

Kudos to Bullock. Two 50+ yd fgs in the same quarter. He has to be the first Texan to acclomplish that.

I've kind of defended him. I didn't think Boswell would be an upgrade and he wasn't. It's kind of been forgotten, but there was a story about him and the coaches making some kind of adjustment in the middle of the season. Right after that, he finished the season making his last 12 FGs. I was willing to see if he could could continue that into this season and thus far he has.

He's turning me, but I'm not off the fat randy hate yet.

That long one could have easily missed. It actually looked that way before hooking it in.

Long as it went in though.

Fat has been performing well recently. At least he has improved, unlike Pancakes McClain.

I mean, it was 55 yards...so yes, it could have easily missed, like they normally do. If he missed that FG, it shouldnt have had any impact on your opinion of him.

    The kicks weren't quite centered.

    Concerning.

I'm sure we're all rooting for him just the same, but I find it especially gratifying getting to cheer on someone with the nicknames, "Fat Randy", "Fat Aggie", "Beercan", "Fat Kicker", etc etc. Just a good a time all around.

If he shows up consistently, can we still call him Fat Randy?
