Which area of the Texans would you improve with the first round pick?

Over the past several weeks many of you have clamored for a new quarterback, but buffing up the trenches should be the texans priority in the draft.

In almost every game the Texans o Line has not given any time to the quarterbacks under center, and the D line (with exception to Watt) has not gotten any pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Our Qb running for his life, and the opposing Qb having all day to throw is the reason the Texans can't win a game.

The Texans won in 2011 and first 12 games of 2012 with the domination of trenches, and to get back to winning football we must make beefing up our lines more important than getting a new Qb.

For the last 30 years the NFL has been quarterback driven, for the last 5-7 years an it is basically the only thing. If you want a championship, you need incredible QB play. Winning and losing in the trenches is an outmoded idea.

But unless you have a Rodgers or Manning, I think it is necessary to take a route like Baltimore and form really good lines, so the Qb has more of an opportunity to succeed.

Plus, no Qb will succeed runnng for his life like all our Qbs have had to do this year.

Agree. Unless you think a player is a legit franchise guy then the line should take priority. I don't think there's that type of QB in this draft.

Bridgewater > Lineman > Any other QB

Why improve the line with first rounders if history tells us we can't keep them when they do start to develop...

The packers were good when rodgers was there they are crap now. The Broncos line is humming along despite losing their best lineman.

Its all about the QB. You win with a hot qb nothing else really matters.

It's simple, just draft the players who will add the most wins to the team. Our FO should already have reams of data telling them whether drafting a QB or linemen is the way to go. Oh wait, our FO sucks and one of our third round picks is already off the team.

I still see enormous potential in Keenum. Given protection, game experience, and better coaching, I can see him winning in this league. Our offensive and defensive lines need serious changes. Newton should be cut.

We have got to go o-line/d-line with our first 2 picks. In the first round either Clowney or Matthews. I think with more starts this season and an off season and training camp with Case taking first team reps, he will be ok.

Here's the thing, I love Watt and he makes some game changing amazing plays but even he cannot effect the game like a QB can. I love Duane Brown and he put on a clinic against Mathis in the Colts game for example. He makes a huge impact on this team but it's still nothing like the impact a QB can make.

If you have a Brees, Manning, Rodgers, Brady then yes deficiencies in the trenches can be tolerated because these guys are just that good. If you don't then you better have an elite D like the Ravens or Giant superbowl teams.

Point is if you feel Bridgewater or Mariota or whoever is that caliber then draft him otherwise build in the trenches.

DO NOT REACH ON A FIRST ROUND PICK

obviously the offensive line 1st, then OLB & S

I would trade down in the first round in a heartbeat

How is that different than schaub? You put peyton manning on this team this team is 13-3. That is kind of qb we need. Too bad we could have actually had him.

LOL When you have one of the top four quarterbacks in football it's all about the QB. Good call.
