For Hangout threads TV shows, should I use a SPOILER tag when discussing a episode that just aired?

I notice some people do this, and I follow suit, but I don't like it. I'd like to discuss and read about details about a show that just finished, but if people are using SPOILER tags for it I can't distinguish between that and legitimate spoilers for things that are yet to air.

I would suggest that when using the SPOILER tags, people should make a brief comment first on what the spoiler is pertaining to (without giving it away, of course!).

One is a spoiler for people that haven't yet watched the latest episode (in which case, perhaps they should just steer clear from the thread). The other is a spoiler for everyone if its pertains to details that haven't yet come out.

My feeling is that for movies, any details should be spoilered, unless it's some kind of thread labeled for spoilers.

I do tend to agree with you that for TV shows, if it has aired, then the point of the thread is to talk about it. If you haven't seen the episode yet, I would stay out of the thread (that's what I've been doing with The Walking Dead - Season 3 until I can sit down and watch the first two episodes).

Anything that hasn't been aired or attempting to discuss true spoilers posted on blogs or news sites should be in spoiler tags.

DUH, use a spoiler when you don't want to give away details that can give away the ending or a specific plot twist.

I think if it's Monday and you didn't watch the latest Walking Dead, it's your own fault for clicking on the Walking Dead thread. What do you think is going to be discussed, season 1? No, it's going to pertain to the lastest episode.

Movies are little different, since people may want to see how people are reviewing it and major spoilers (ie who keyser soze is).

or people that haven't seen the episode should avoid visiting the thread. I hate it when I run into spoilers in a general area, but if there is anything pertaining to the discussion I don't think you should have to spoiler.
