neither of those things can be free (at least not without billions of volunteers). Education and Healthcare costs money. What you mean is you want the wealthy to pay for these things for everyone. Your position is just easier to sell to idiots if you misrepresent it.

Curious about the education bit. Free to what degree? Could I get a PhD in history or something like that for free?

i think the wealthy should pay a ton of tax. i mean a boat load. why, because they can afford it and because they love their country i believe america would be a greater and more powerful nation if everyone were not burdened with medical bills and student loan debt. more smart, healthy people means more chance for innovators, poets, and yes, rich people.

I think people love America for the freedom it gives everyone to be/achieve whatever they want. This seizes to be if you greatly tax the wealthy. IF what I desire is to ensure my grandchildren will never starve and always have a roof over his head, well that's no longer an option.

Why would there be more healthy and educated people? These things would become rationed and far worse in your America. What you desire exists. No need to stay here if that's what you want.

tallanavor, not a real strong comeback.
who said anything about people not being able to be all they can be, where did you get that from? i think the word you were grasping for is ceases. i don't think all the money to pay for this should come from the rich but you dare question my patriotism and not the 1% of people who owe their fortunes to being born in the greatest country on earth yet don't want to give back? and what's getting rationed, huh? what? what country are you talking about that i should live in? can you think for yourself? say something interesting, please.
oh, and your grandchildren, tell them to learn to take personal responsibilty for their lives and quit looking for handouts.

Things cost money. You are asking government take tons of money from people. Government would be an insurmountable obstacle for those trying to achieve what they want.

Never questioned your patriotism. Also, government should not be in the businesses of judging whether someone is deserving of their money. That's disgusting.

I'll be blunt, education is inherently not a beneficial thing. At the undergraduate and post-graduate level, it is fundamentally an investment for people to earn a better life. And if it is the state paying for that education, then I frankly think that it should be proved that the person will be a good investment.
tl;dr the United States should not be paying students who really don't know why they're going to college and then eventually major in something stupid like Women's Studies.

I think you make food and shelter free, and everything else should be a dog-fight. Oh, and ban inheritance. Use it or lose it.
