Using your math, I had to make a blatant correction here. Someone should update the history books based on TJYates's 5 regular season starts. Lets also not forget that Yates' passer record (80.9) is superior to VY's (74.4)
Seriously guys, he was a great college QB. He had some moments in the NFL. But screwing with the numbers to put him up with the NFL legends is a ****ing joke.

Theres a minimum number of games played dude.
I don't care if you hate him, history shows he won lots of comebacks.
Nobody said he was a good as them just his comeback ability.
Example. Tracy mcgrady was an excellent scorer. You could put his stats next to Kobe.
but everybody knows Kobe is beyond better than him.

He was improving every. He was actually a pretty decent QB in 2009-2010, but that blow up with fisher probably cost him a lot.

Again, why must Tinman think another person hates Vince Young? Is this getting old with anyone else?
Can one not contest the EPIC GODLIKENESS OF VY with people on this board without being labelled a hater by the priests of his temple?
I have nothing against the guy. I wish he had done well in Philly and Buffalo. No way I was rooting for a Titan. I hope he figures out how to manage his money and gets another shot somewhere.
But seriously, I'm just sick of the crazies in Texas who can't just admit that he had a decent, but not spectacular, career.

if you want to use some bad stats to prove your point, so according to the NFL career passing ratings, Matt Schaub would definitely be elite, having the same QB rating than Joe Montana, and having better QB rating than Dan Marino, and Tony Romo being the 2nd best QB of all-time!!
(Disclaimer, I dont think Schaub is better than Marino, just posting any stats to back up a ridiculous posts like yours.)
http://www.pro-football-reference.co...ing_career.htm
Rank Quarterback Rating
1 Aaron Rodgers 103.6
2 Tony Romo 96.9
3 Steve Young 96.8
4 Tom Brady 96.4
5 Philip Rivers 95.9
6 Peyton Manning 94.8
7 Kurt Warner 93.7
8 Drew Brees 93.6
9 Joe Montana 92.3
9 Matt Schaub 92.3
9 Ben Roethlisberger 92.3
and Vince Young:
107 David Carr 74.9
Chris Miller 74.9
Patrick Ramsey 74.9
110 Don Meredith 74.8
Brian Sipe 74.8
112 Ty Detmer 74.7
113 Jake Plummer 74.6
114 Vince Young 74.4
LOL, even David Carr has better QB rating than Vince Young

I was pointing out you had horrible example in statistics, I give you an F.
There was an obvious minimum number of games involved in those statistics, you cherry picked a QB with only a few starts and compared it to them.
This is like someone picking Jeremy Lin's streak vs Michael Jordan's career.
See?
If you want to say, VY is not as good as Joe Montana, fine.
VY is good at comebacks based a larger number of games than TJ Yates.
And yes people hate Vince Young and the University of Texas.
The whole A&M university left the Big 12 cause they hate UT and how much power it has.
For Vince Young, a guy who loves Houston, even when he played in Nashville, even when he says that Houston fans should route for the Texans, people hate him.
They hate him cause he's black, they hate him cause he had low wonderlick score, they hate cause he beat the Texans when he can back to Houston and whole bunch of fans cheered for the Titans, it goes on
there are many reasons people hate him.
I don't hate him, and I'm not a LeBron James fan from california trolling threads about Texas related sports either.
I'm just a Rockets fans first, who's second favorite team is UT.

Back away from the keyboard for a little while. You are obsessed with VY. People think he is a major dumbass. I don't think most of us hate him.

Its the Eli Manning argument from years ago (Tim Tebow doesnt count): Average, middling overall passing numbers, but plays big when it matters in the closing moments.
He had a knack for the comeback from early in his career
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vince_Young#Rookie_season
Quote:
On Sunday November 26, 2006, Vince Young led his first NFL fourth-quarter comeback, against the New York Giants.
---
A week later, Young led another come-from-behind victory over the Indianapolis Colts who, prior to the game, held a 10–1 record. Rob Bironas iced the game with a 60-yard field goal. The 14-point comeback marked the first time in NFL history that a rookie quarterback led two 14+ point comebacks in the same season.
|
The Colts won the Super Bowl that year. The Giants the year after. We know the full story now, but Vince Young showed he was an emerging prospect. Then a couple seasons later made a Pro Bowl to show maybe he wasnt just a flash in the pan.
I don't think anyone [NOW] is saying Vince Young was truly elite. Just a good QB that closed games okay in a decent situation in Tennessee. Exposed as an ineffective passer in other teams. And all kinds of valid reasons why he didnt fullfill his promise

No his actions led to that. I think most coaches probably didn't want to deal with him after that. His athleticism had declined and his passing skills hadn't improved enough.
