Please don't take this the wrong way. But if so difficult, or unituitive how do millions of kids under the age of 10, first pick up and android phone and are able to navigate it? I swear to god, my 2 year old daughter knows how to navigate to just about everything on our phones. She can navigate to netflix, pick movies, go to pictures, play movies, and even go to the app store and download kids apps.
its not that android is hard, per say. its more just like iOS has a level of refinement that is unmatched which makes it highly intuitive.
it takes into account extremely complex concepts and derives from them a simple design
I have extensive experience with the major mobile OSes and I like iOS and my iPhone 4S the most. With that said, I'm not impressed with the iPhone 5 for some reason. With the exception of the LTE antenna, I don't feel that it's a big enough upgrade. I guess I was expecting something more radical like the evolution from 3GS to 4 but when the leaks started coming out I was pretty disappointed. I use Windows Phone for work and it is my second favorite OS but I don't think I would want to leave the Apple ecosystem just yet.
does anyone know of anyone who has Sprint LTE, I know the complaints about the 3g and such but if the LTE is up to par with Tmobile's HSPA and coverage is good around Houston, I jump to them because the price isn't too bad for 4 lines on what we are paying now. How is Sprint's LTE coverage in Houston?
Don't forget now everyone that has a current dock that plays music etc will have to buy an adapter if they get the Iphone 5. Time for them to make a killing on an adapter that probably costs them a penny to make.
so the ipad mini rumors were false? i don't see what price point they can release it at if even an ipod touch is 299 and the ipad is 499.
I also heard a Nov/Jan announcement was possible. For all we know, it may not show up until the annual iPad refresh in March.
Since it is a response to Kindle Fire/Nexus, a $200-250 price point would be expected.
The $300 Touch is 32gb, while the iPad mini is expected to be a bare bones 8gb.
Apple is big about a "gateway drug" approach to their products.

The adapter change alone (killing all speaker docks I own) ends any interest I might have had in upgrading to the new ipod Touch. Wider screen isn't close to worth it.

Your speaker dock will be fine. There will be a small interposer that you use to connect to the iPhone 5 to the older peripherals.

Out of curiosity, what were there radical changes from 3GS to 4? It was faster and it looked different, and pieces like Facetime, the camera, etc were incrementally better. But was there anything truly radical there?

Retina display?

retina display was radically better. Camera was much better and the new design was a huge improvement.
I think that jump was the last significant one for apple. The last couple have been average, but I don't feel we need change just for change. The 4/4s is a great looking phone.
I to believe that Davis has Garnett potential. I also feel that Lamb has McGrady potential. Terrence Jones has the potential to be better than Bosh. Royce has the potential to be another Majic Johnson.
3 potentials > 1 potential.
PG - Deron Williams
SG - Dwyane Wade
SF - Larry Bird
PF- Dennis Rodman
C - David Robinson
Bench:
David Thompson
Eddie Jones
Pau Gasol

i just spend 45 minutes setting up citrix reciever for doctors earlier..and it's cool to see how effortlessly they use their ipad. even the most computer illiterate ones looked like IT folks..
I find that any ease at which I can figure out how to use an iphone/ipad is countered by the fact that I suck at navigating itunes. To the point where I went out of my way to jailbreak them so I don't have to deal with the whole syncing crap. I'm sure the more Apple savvy people can tell me what I did wrong and all. But I find it weird how itunes doesn't use drag/drop folders that any windows user can intuitively pick up.
I got both my iphone4 and my ipad 2nd hand, and I do like them quite a bit. But if I were to pay full retail price on a new tablet or a new phone, I'd much prefer something where I don't have to jailbreak them so I can put my favorite stuff inside.
I'm only interested in camera and screen improvements, and this isn't something I'm going to upgrade to in a while. My 4s is still good to go and it will be for the next three years.

It is all about texting and data. Especially if you are at a bar you can't hear anything.
