I can't quite label Serena as the greatest of all time in women's tennis. Yeah, maybe I'm old school, but back in the day, you watched women's tennis b/c they had a lot of good players. It ain't like that (to me) anymore. Maybe I just don't recognize as many names.

nobody is going to mock when you say black athletes are the GOAT in football in these positions: WR, RB, LB, DE, etc.

If you say Bolt or Carl Lewis are the GOAT in their sport, nobody is going to mock you.

Nobody is going to mock you if you put or 4 black players in the top 5 in NBA.

nobody would mock you if you said Pele is the GOAT in soccer.

nobody will mock saying: Olajuwon, Moses Malone, Sampson, Drexler, etc are some of the best players in Rockets History.

Tiger Woods is still considered among the best players in the history of Golf.

we are discussing about Serena, we dont care what race she is, we are discussing about her playing tennis, and we dont think she is the best player of all-time. I would put her 6-8 of all-time.

is that a Tennis Player period or just womens player, their are not 3 WTA players in the history of womens tennis better than a prime Serena, let alone 5 or 6

Tiger Woods is the GOAT in Golf, i used a previous posters use of his stats to justify his claims as to why Steffi Graf was better than Serena, and he started by using weeks at #1.. which is a good example. But then why doesnt the same apply to Woods, who not only has that stat but he has more stats and records to back up his GOAT status over Jack. Also Steffi doesnt have the most GS Single Titles.. Margret Court does with 24.. see what i mean

Roger Federer could have retired at 13 majors and been seen as the male tennis GOAT in my eyes

WAY better, because they bring POWER.. which was started by Monica Seles, then enhanced through the Williams Sisters, and many European coaches are modeling their young female tennis players after the Williams Sisters, Sharapova even got her "yell" patterned after Venus Williams. her father admitted after Sharapova beat Serena in the 2004 Wimby Final

The USTA is still living in the past, "pushing" wont win you majors on the womens side, and defintely on the mens side

Seles wasn't that much of a power player. She had an unusual style, but I'd say she was more about the angles with her two-handed playing style on both backhand and forehand than about power, despite all the grunting.

I can't say much about Margaret Court, that was before my time, but her Grand Slam record is impressive.
