2,000 minorities girls converted to Islam forcibly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Quote:
* 2,303 instances of sexual abuse reported from various parts of country
* Pakistan ranks second in global ranking with highest number of out-of-school children
By Aliya Mirza
LAHORE: As many as 2,000 women and girls from various minority sects were forcibly converted to Islam through rape, torture and kidnappings, while 161 people were charged with blasphemy in 2011, according to a report by the Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child (SPARC).
SPARC released the report on Tuesday at a press conference at a hotel.
The report read that minorities make up three to four percent of the country’s population but remain sidelined in state policies. In 2011, extremists killed governor Salmaan Taseer and federal minorities minister Shahbaz Bhatti, as both were advocating minority rights by calling for amendments in the country’s controversial blasphemy law.
After the 2011 floods, 130,000 Hindus were forced to leave their homes and 86,500 ended up on streets of various cities in Sindh. Whereas 27 Hindu children were kidnapped for ransom from different parts of northern Sindh. The primary school enrolment rate of scheduled caste Hindu girls is only 10.2 percent. Ahmadi students have been especially targeted by the hate campaigns. In Hafizabad, 10 Ahmadi students, including seven girls and a teacher, were expelled from school on account of their religious affiliation.
Violence against children: The report also read a total of 2,303 instances of sexual abuse were recorded from various parts of the country. The actual number is larger as many cases go unreported. In majority of the cases, people close to the child (parents or relatives) or officials who are supposed to give them protection are the abusers. For instance, policemen are involved in more than 60 percent of sexual abuse cases of street children. The number of acid attacks rose from 65 to 105 in 2011. A majority of the acid attacks involve women and girls between the ages of 15 and 25.
Child labour: According to a study by SPARC, most of the child domestic workers in Pakistan are aged between 10-15 years (sometimes five years old children are also employed). In the absence of official statistics, it is impossible to assess the magnitude of bonded labour, but it is estimated that 1.7 million people are engaged in bonded labour in Pakistan.
Juvenile justice: The number of juveniles detained in prisons increased from 1,225 in 2010 to 1,421 in 2011. Punjab has the highest number of juvenile offenders (833), Sindh 318, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 241 and Balochistan has 40 juvenile offenders.
Education: Pakistan ranks second in the global ranking of countries with the highest number of out-of-school children with the figure estimated to be about 25 million. Seven million have yet to receive some form of primary schooling. As many as 9,800 schools were reportedly affected in Sindh and Balochistan due to floods. Around 600,000 children of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are reported to have missed one or more years of education due to ongoing militancy.
Pakistan has the lowest youth literacy rate. Only 59 percent females are literate as compared to 79 percent of males in the age group of 15 to 24 years. There are around 51.2 million adult illiterates in Pakistan. Only 65 percent schools have drinking water facilities, 62 percent have toilet facilities, 61 percent have a boundary wall and only 39 percent have electricity.
Was going to start another thread,
but
no need to stir the pot any further...
it looks like this goose,
The Mormons actually have more in common with islam than Christianity:
1. Polygamy
2. False Doctrine
3. An Imitation Jesus
4. Cultish behaviour
5. Fixation with sexual relations ( with young girls)
6. Heavenly Brothels
And
You could say that they are the Islamists of the Christian world.
LOL, fortunately, I haven't started any wars.
You don't think Ahmadinejad is crazy? You probably think the Israelis are crazier than Ahmadinejad?
Yes it is. Bible tells us to use righteous judgement.
After reviewing all of the evidence, my verdict still stands. Mormons are not Christians.
They may call themselves a Christian denomination, and they have the right to call themselves whatever they want...still doesn't make them Christians.
Here is just 101 odd beliefs of Mormonism...you judge for yourself if these are Biblical Christian beliefs.
The bible says for people to follow their beliefs even if they are different than others, and that they will stand or fall before their master(God). The bible says not to judge repeatedly, and it was certainly essential to Jesus message throughout his teachings, including the Sermon on the mount.
The bible does say to judge the fruits, and the Mormons I know live their life in a very Christian way. I disagree with plenty of Mormon theology and doctrine, but going by their fruits and the fact that they believe Jesus was the son of God by who's grace they are saved, I'd say they qualify as Christians. Of course it isn't my place to judge.
The bible says that you don't have a judgement when it comes to a person's soul. So for you to claim that someone else who believes they are Christians aren't Christians isn't your place.
Hey, I'm not saying that they aren't nice people. In fact, Mormons are some of the kindest, accepting, forgiving, dedicated and devout people that I've ever known.
But a fact is a fact, they are not Christians. Whilst they may read the Bible, and have a thorough knowledge of Christian theology, they have a totally different doctrine. They have elevated Joseph Smith to deity level, believe that the garden of Eden was in Missouri, that there is a multi-verse with multiple gods and that by being a Mormon and following their doctrine to the letter you too can become a god and start creating your own planets...
Bro, you can call me ignorant all that you want. But when you attack the messenger and then accuse me of criticising a group of people without you actually reading the post or even looking at the facts behind my claim...it is you that exposes yourself as an ignorant idiot.
Looks like the emperor's new clothes have left him exposed.
~~~~~~~~~

Sometimes it's good to know what you are talking about before you expel your verbal diarrhea and launch personal attacks.

I never once said anything untrue or derogatory towards the Mormons, I just
Stated the obvious truth, that Mormons are not Christians.

I then proceeded to lay out the evidence to support my claim.

Here is a little more. Care to give a rebuttal?

Does this look like Biblical Christian doctrine or belief?

This is a chart showing the differences in the two religions.

Do the following contradict or support Christian beliefs?

Fact:
Mormons are awesome people, but they are not Christians.

Case closed.

No they don't. See above post.

As someone who travels the world evangelising and spreading the Gospel, I do feel that I have a responsibility to expose false teachings and share the true gospel of Christ in a responsible and respectful manner.

If I knew that a rope bridge was not strong enough to hold someone's weight as they were crossing over it, wouldn't it be wrong of me not to inform them that even though they believe that the bridge is strong enough and the right way to go, it truly isn't?

Just because people believe they are something, doesn't mean that they are what they believe they are.
As a Christian it is my place to correct any other religious people who call themselves Christians when they either aren't Christian (Jehovah's witnesses say that they are Christians) or believe that they are Christians but are following a doctrine that is polar opposite to the Christianity of the Bible.

Their salvation could be at stake.

And just because you believe in Jesus Christ, doesn't make you a Christian. The Bible says that the Devil and demons believe in Jesus Christ, and I'm pretty sure that they're not Christians.

Mohummad believed in Jesus, I somehow think that he wasn't a practicing Christian.

Once again, not having a go at the Mormon people or their religion, just pointing out the FACT that they are not Christians.

And to turn this debate back to being on topic.

Reasons why children in Iran get married:
- Lack of education
- Lower standard of living (Women do not have opportunity to do much if anything in a 3rd world country)
- Religion (Islam) encourages marriage as soon as one thinks you are ready to avoid sin. If you believe that having sex or doing anything sexual before marriage is a sin, think about how many times you might have sinned in the last 3 months. Marriage at 10 adds responsibilities as well as prevents sexual sin religiously.
- Poverty prevents a lot of development (education, advancement in work, etc.) so religion, marriage, and raising a family are now priority over education and work advancement.

Now yes I am sure there are people out there who are abusing this religious conception to make these 10 year old girls marry them. But not everyone is a bad guy. The idea of marrying young (keeping in mind that this is young for the American standard) is to stay within their priorities. I have lived overseas in the middle east albeit only a few months. I have seen the difference between America and Middle-Eastern countries. Why do we go to school and seek higher education? To get better paying jobs to support and give our families a better life correct? Well if that opportunity is not there, then why wait to get married? If you have already obtained all that you can, there is no point in waiting.

I Know this is very different than what happens here in the states. I am sure people think it is wrong we let people drive at 15 or 16, go to war at 18, and drink at 21.
