From what I read he had a knee injury, came back from that, and then had a foot injury from a bad tackle.

I'm interested in seeing what he can do and how he'll be used. If we keep the 4-3-3 lineup does it push Boniek up top in place of Kandji or Carr? Or will we switch back to a 4-2-2? Assuming he even takes over anybody's starting spot.

Is it really a good time to start tinkering with the formation, though? Sure, they have slowed down in the last few games, but the team has really taken off ever since Dom switched to a 4-3-3.

I can see benefits of both systems. One thing I like about the 4-3-3 is it gives Davis and Garcia freedom to roam around the midfield, and the past couple of games you can see they're really starting to play well off of each other.

The 4-4-2 would help Bruin the most, he's not very good at playing a target forward and his game has really suffered from the switch. It would also probably give Garcia more room out on the wing so he wouldn't be surrounded as soon as he touches the ball. Of course moving him up top in a 4-3-3 could also accomplish that.

I was thinking a 4-4-2 in the sense that the USMNT uses one. Clark behind Giles and give Davis and Boniek the freedom to move...maybe more of a 4-1-3-2

I could see that working, it would give us the best of both worlds.

If Giles can be the center mid in the mold of Holden or DeRo, Bruin should see a big increase in chances.

That ref is historically biased against US teams. He's done a lot of the USMNT games over the past 5 or so years. The bias just bleeds out of him in his calls. Boniek was getting hammered all night and wasn't getting any calls. Cleats-up slides, blatant elbows, etc all were let go when it was going against the Dynamo.

bad ref or not Olimpia out played the Dynamo for most of the match. They played harder, faster and had tons of chances why the Dynamo played slow footed and didn't communicate well.

It was a calculated gamble for Kinnear and would have classified regardless but the players played like garbage most of the game.

My one problem with last night was...

If you're going to bother bringing Bruin, Kandji, and some of the other regular starters, why not, you know, start them? Maybe they could have gotten an early lead, then pull them for the kids.

Playing outside Chicago right now. Game just started, and Fire just scored in the first minute.

Exactly. I actually forgot the game was on, flipped past it, saw the score was 2-0 and immediately moved on to something else.

Figured I'd give this a shout over here too.

Selling the rest of my season tickets.

I'll be moving out of the city, so I cannot attend these games. Reasonable offers considered FYI.
