The odds that we'd put Posey on the practice squad are about zero percent. That would be an incredibly bad move.

Why would you waste a 3rd round pick like that and allow other teams to sign him?

- Schaub looked great this game.

- The running game didnt like great, because the 49ers were the best defense against the run last year, they didnt allow a run TD in 14 games.

- Brice McCain didnt look good in this game.

- Good thing, is that Foster didnt fumble the ball this time.

- I dont know if its because Grimes is playing against 3rd and 4th strings, but he is running very well.

- Holliday keeps doing a great job in the returning game, not just because the TDs, but the texans keep getting good start on the field.

so then you have to carry 6 receivers because someone has to return kicks. that's the problem with holiday. posey better be ready to make some tackles on ST.

i think the point they are making is that Posey won't be on the practice squad. If anything he will more than likely be placed on IR if they don't think he's ready this season.

I think Bullock still wins the kicking job. One missed 51-yarder in preseason is no big deal. What good teams don't do is continue a rotating turnstile of re-treads and washed up kickers because that's just setting yourself up for disaster. We saw last year what happens when we don't trust a kicker to make anything over 47, 48 yards. The entire gameplan changes, and the long field goal just doesn't even become an option in the playbook.

Now I know Graham is making his 48-50-yarders this preseason. But man when he's kicking them that ball looks like it's headed for the goal at a 30 degree angle or something really shallow. We saw this before with veteran kickers who lay it all out in preseason and then regress to their unathletic forms once the season starts and they've lost the pressure that comes when you could lose your job any day henceforth. In 2009 or 2010 (maybe both years) we brought in punters to compete with Old Man Matt Turk, and both times either by default or by good performance Turk won the job back. Then the season would start and it would be painfully clear that our punter was one of the worst in the NFL.

I think the Texans have learned from those mistakes. To get a really good kicker or punter, you have to groom one. The growing pains are not so bad in the first year, but the presumption is that by their third or fourth year they will have reached an elite status that they will carry with them for the next 10-15 years, making the investment completely worthwhile. New England did this with Gostkowski a few years ago, Philadelphia with Henery last year. Both teams were fine rolling out rookie kickers in what were supposed to be contending teams. We will be fine also.

I agree and don't forget what the Oakland Raiders did when they drafted Lechler (P) and Janikowski (K) ...

QB. I think Kubiak would prefer to have Beck on the roster all year - just in case. But, frankly, it's every bit the luxury as keeping 4 specialists. Highly likely, if released, that Beck would still be avialable later this year if needed.

We could always go get Delhomme. I like what I have seen from Keenum. Good poise..I think he is ready for the #3 QB.

Keenum is suppose to run with the second team more in the next game. His play will elevate when the players around him are better. I like what I have seen from him in his limited attempts.

Why does Martin look so ready and DeVier doesn't?

That's hilarious...Ive watched the replay 10 times trying to figure out how the punter failed to get to the sideline in time.

Its more than just about straight line speed...its about angles and vectors too.

Hartman would have tagged him. Maybe that is why Trindon has all this renewed confidence. He hasn't had Hartman chasing him all over the field in practice.
