This is actually good news for the Rockets, they will be terrible this year and is definitely not compete for the top 8 spots in the west.

If D'Antoni would have been coaching those guys last year and pumping Felton to continue racing up and down the court, Portland would have been a top 3 team in the West. Nate totally bungled that team by forcing Felton to slow down and run half-court sets. Now, they're gonna come back younger with a fresh hot point guard. D'Antoni would be a great fit there. And I see trouble on the horizon in the West if he does become the coach. If they re-sign Batum, which it appears they will, to go along with Lillard, etc., they're gonna be very, very tough to defend with those guys running.

Given how much you talked last year about how the Lakers' advantage in the post would help them to win, I'm a little confused about how you would like a coach like D'Antoni who doesn't exactly do that sort of stuff.

And I guess that's one less competitor for the playoffs.
