I think Toronto makes the most sense for Nash, unless he desperately wants a ring. If he wants to win a championship, given the point guard situation for all of the contenders, Miami is the only team that could use the upgrade there.

Miami - Mario Chalmers
Boston - Rajon Rondo
Indiana - Darren Collison
New York - Jeremy Lin (cap situation makes it rough to get Nash)
San Antonio - Tony Parker
Memphis - Mike Conley (bad cap situation, would be tough)
Clippers - Chris Paul
OKC - Russell Westbrook
Lakers - Nobody, but would Nash really go play with Kobe? I don't think so.

So that leaves Toronto and Miami. Nash is the best Canadian basketball product of all time and I'm sure the Raptors would sell the farm for him. The Lithuanian kid they're getting this year is supposed to be incredible - Chad Ford said on Simmons' podcast that he easily would've been the #2 pick in this year's draft.

Sam Amick@sam_amick Source confirms Toronto has offered Steve Nash a three-year, $36 million deal with no options attached. @ESPNSteinline had first.

Who?

And I think Nash should go to Indy, if the Pacers can keep Hibbert.

That team would be instant ECF contenders if Nash / Granger / Hibbert was their core.

Not really.

That teams not any better than MVP Nash, Marion, Stoudemire, Joe Johnson squad from 2005.

$12mil per year + Canadian endorsements. Gets to play the role of Canadian hero defending the homeland, and a chance to turn a team around that never did anything. With the addition of Valanciunas and Ross, you never know what might happen. Hard opportunity to pass up.

Looks like the Knicks want an open competition at point guard, unless Lin ends with another team.

Not really sure how you can compare the two. One was pure offense with no defense, while Indy's core maintains the ability to run while playing solid defense.

If the Pacers are able to keep Hibbert and sign Nash (probably not going to happen):

Nash
Hill
Granger
West
Hibbert

That's a beast of a starting lineup.

It's also not like they have dead meat players on their current roster, Bargnani, Derozan, Bayless, Udoh, Johnson, and Kleiza ... they are all fairly good talents, but the team doesn't have elite or alot of higher end players. Still, they are a good fit for an elite point guard, like Williams or Nash.

That's a nice team on paper but they're still a liability defensively as well and not nearly as good on offense as the the 2005 Suns team. What they lacked defensively they made up for it offensively.

My original point was that I'd take the 2005 Suns over that squad you listed even if they were to pay both Nash and Hibbert and keep the rest of those guys which probably isn't possible anyways like you mentioned.

I don't think George starts over Granger or West.

But I can't remember what the lineups were, in the playoffs.

As Raptors, Knicks & Mavs-fight 4 Steve Nash, the Lakers have also quietly entered the picture & are making a hard push, per league source.

Nash in huge demand around the league, with multiple teams trying to get in hourly, per source.
