Why would he change his mind between last night (when the $8 mil figure was reported) and midnight? Did Omer Asik get caught exposing himself to children?

Look back to Chuck Hayes who was an offensive zero under JVG/Thibs and what he turned into offensively with a different coach.

I dont know about you, bt i saw Camby making 3-pointers, and he has a nice jumper(although awkward looking). Dalembert also has a nice 15 footer

Imagine Asik and Chandler Parsons on the court together. Hack City

Great analysis.
Like playing 4 on 5 on offense.

How many wins did we get with Camby and Dalembert?

He gets 14 mins per game because he is a clumsy, unskilled oaf.

Omer Asik doesn't even make the list of top 25 free agents ranked by PER this summer.

McGee didn't play stupid for the Nuggets like he did with the Wizards. He was a defensive force in the playoffs for them. One of the top shot blockers, he's younger than Asik and has the much higher ceiling. His per 36 averages on his career are 14.6ppg-10.2rpg-3.1bpg. It would've been perfect to have him here under McHale.

That's because PER is a stat that mostly summarizes offensive output. If there was a equivalent of PER for defensive Asik without question would be in the top-5.

Asik doesn't even have half the offense that Camby, Dalembert, and maybe Hayes have. When they he is non-existent on offense, they literally mean it. He averaged like 4 pts on 21 minutes during the playoffs. Their is a reason why he's on the floor so limited. The Bulls still got elite D 34 out of the 48 minutes they didn't play him.

And furthermore... anyone on that list that would be of interest or need will be matched. And ironically, a few were described as needing an interior defensive presence... which is what Asik offers.

OK, so Asik doesn't contribute offensively. If he comes in and stops the freeway to the hoop that has plagued the Rockets prior to Dalembert's and Camby's arrival I'd be happy.

And interesting you mention that the Bulls got elite D for the minutes Asik isn't on the floor... look at the Rockets current starting five:

Lowry (or Dragic, if he re-signs)
Martin
Parsons
Scola
Dmo (or Camby, if he re-signs)

Do you see an elite defense? Heck, even an average defense?

You're right there is a reason. His name is Noah.

The goal is to have the Bulls overpay for Asik and they'll need to shed Noah.

This.

Martin + Tjones, for example.

Bulls need to shed salary.

Mike McGraw: I agree with those who think Bulls would not match if Rockets come up with a 5-5-11-11 (4 yr, 32 mil) offer sheet for Omer. about 17 minutes ago
