we may be Heat stoppers, but MKG is not a great shooter, and neither is Parsons. We'd be giving up too much offense IMHO

If Parsons develops a consistent jump shot during the offseason

What percentage did he shoot last year? I thought he was decent from the field...

Comment From jack
cavs in talks with rockets...have you heard any details?

12:22

Sam Amico: Yes, Rockets were interested in the No. 4 pick. Cavs told them to take a hike, from what I hear.

If Rockets can't move 3 1st Rd picks will cavs call them to get one of them?

12:24

Sam Amico: Wouldn't surprise me if they did. Not sure what they could trade, though.

I'm just going to keep posting Rockets related stuff from this chat. It's somewhat relevant:

Comment From CavsFan4life
With the Rockets being so aggresive, how likely is it the Cavs get another lottery pick? They seem to have more assets than the Rockets.

12:30

Sam Amico: I respect your thinking, but how do you figure Cavs have more assets than Rockets? Scola better than any big on Cavs, Martin better than any SG, and Lowry is a starter at PG. They also have 3 first-rounders in the teens. So if it comes down to Rockets or Cavs making a blockbuster, I'd say Rockets win easily.

Haha that Cavs fan was delusional. I know we may be homers here, but I was damn sure we have better assets to offer than the Cavs. Only pieces they have that are more valuable are untouchable for them.

Cool. So how about Martin & 2 firsts for #4?

I'm all for getting top 10 picks, but I would be really pissed if we got two top 10s and traded them in for Howard.

(not my Q)

Comment From Sammy
As a Laker fan, should I be thinking that the Rockets will target Pau after realizing that Dwight is not an option?

12:53

Sam Amico: That's exactly what I'm thinking, Sammy. I think it's a better possibility than Dwight, in fact.

Sam Amick more or less confirming it:

The Bobcats continue to talk with Cleveland about swapping No. 4 for No. 2, with Charlotte surely pushing for as many assets as possible to go with it (the Cavs have the 24th, 33rd and 34th picks). Houston (Nos. 14, 16 and 18) and Portland (Nos. 6 and 11) are trying to land the No. 2 pick as well, according to sources.

[...]

It's also worth noting that Cleveland arranged a private workout for Washington shooting guard Terrence Ross for Wednesday. Ross is expected to be a late-lottery or mid-first-round pick, so this could be a sign that Cleveland is considering moving back. Given Houston's aggressive attempt to use its picks to get into the top 10 as part of its potential push for Howard, it makes you wonder if the Cavs might be considering swapping picks with the Rockets and possibly taking Ross in the teens.

[...]

Sources said the Kings aren't as content as I'd previously thought about the idea of grabbing whichever player falls between Kidd-Gilchrist and Barnes (assuming Beal is gone and Robinson, with whom they'd likely be thrilled, is off the board as well). As discussed back in Mock 2.0, I'm now hearing once again that they may go big in an attempt to find a complement for young center DeMarcus Cousins. I still put Barnes here because he's the value pick who could be dealt to another team as part of a trade in which the Kings move back to select a big man. Sources said one of the possibilities is to swap picks with Golden State (No. 7) and pick up another asset. And it's well-chronicled that the Kings can move back in exchange for Houston's 14th and 16th picks.

As for which big man they'd opt for? That's not clear yet, though I'm told it wouldn't be Connecticut center Andre Drummond. Some of the candidates include North Carolina power forward John Henson, Kentucky power forward Terrence Jones, and, depending on how far back they went, Mississippi State power forward Arnett Moultrie. St. John's small forward Moe Harkless, who is expected to go in the mid-to-late first round, had a surprise workout in Sacramento on Monday.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/201...f=twitter_feed

Remember how Chad Ford said the Kings would like to have one of the Rockets young players (mentioning Motiejunas) in addition to #14 and #16 for #5.
Appears as if Amick is hearing similar stuff.

The Cavs have four picks in this draft#'s 4,24,33, &34. I know the price for #4 is going to be steep, but I can't imagine them wanting 4 1st round picks. I would think maybe Martin, Parsons, and 14 could be the starting framework of a deal. If any other picks are added by the Rockets, then maybe the Cavs include #24 or their 2nd rounders.

I tweeted this at Chad Ford last night at like 2AM.

Therefore I will take credit as his source.

And then proceed to discount myself as a credible source.

Again I hear so much talking. Morey gives me no confidence when he is all over the place with talk. It means he is lowballing people again and not really trying to get deals done. I am gonna reserve judgement on him this time until after the draft. Its not looking good so far even armed with 3 picks and Lowry. I think he needs a plan and to stick to it if there is a good idea of some offers on the table by now.

I don't see how something doesn't happen here... There's no way we keep all three picks

I think we, in this city, undervalue martin .. the guy in a injury filled season and a season where he was in the coaches doghouse averaged 17 points .. he is a career 37% 3 point shooter as a high volume shooter (not like the guys who only shoot 3s when they are passed the ball off the double team and are wide open)
In the right system martin will have no trouble averaging 20 points a game shooting close to 40% 3s and running the floor well. It is true he is not a great defender but some coaches (like adelman) dont really care. Depending on the team and their philosophy, I can see teams valuing him more than lowry who has basically one good year under his belt
