http://www.smh.com.au/sport/basketball/nba-spur-has-maric-riding-high-for-london-20120620-20ohd.html Spoke with teams. Including Houston.
How come the Warriors are seemingly always interested in the same guys as the Rockets? Anyway, Maric is a 6'11 C. Played in Greece and the Euroleague last year. From what I've seen: Soft hands. Good post player. Pretty good rebounder. Very efficient. Not a great athlete by any means. Pretty slow, yet somehow nimble feet. Plays 5 feet and in. I could ask OHMSS for more.
Good player. Marić took the starting center position for Partizan after Peković left, and I must say that their game style is quite similar.
Sounds like it based on the measurements (6'11'' 273 lbs coming out of the University of Nebraska) and numbers (high rebound output, high FG%, low FT%). Nothing even close to David Andersen's 3-pt gunning style of play.
Personally I see better NBA prospects in Europe at the position, for instance, Boni N'Dong, Joel Freeland, even D'or Fischer, who is an inferior player than Maric in Europe (all of them are, probably). Also mention Lorbek, who should be a center in the NBA, and Krstic, both better players than Maric also in Europe.
