I was talking with a friend earlier and I mentioned how I like to salt my watermelons and she couldn't believe it. I thought it was a common thing to do.
lol That's what she said. It enhances the flavor and sweetness of the melons. I love it. You don't want to add too much, just a little on each bite. Mods is there anyway you could edit the thread to add the poll with a simple yes or no option. Please and thank you. I checked the poll option but the page never loaded. I think my connection dropped right after I hit submit. Thanks
I think tried it before, since one of my parents were doing it. Not completely sure but it could have been on grapefruits.
I've never heard of that before. It would never occur to me to put salt on something sweet. Sugar, yes. Salt, no.
My parents used to have watermelon, along with bacon sandwiches. Yes, they salted their watermelon. Everyone loved it, but me. I just ate the bacon sandwiches. Learned to love watermelon later, sans salt. I think it's an East Texas thing.
I'll put salt on those sour fruit I eat, like pineapple. Some of my friends like to put "Pickled Plum" powder to their watermelon.
If you mean Japanese then no, apparently they are not the only ones who do that. Are you joking? If not then I don't understand what you are talking about and if you are then I still don't follow.
