In this month's issue of ESPN the Magazine, Ric Bucher writes this in his NBA Insider page: "Maybe this is why it didn't work out between Bonzi Wells and the Rockets: Wells told a friend that his $2 Million contract was a fourth of what he was worth 'so that's how much they are going to get.' Still you could argue Houston got shortchanged." I know that none of us knew what went on in the locker room with Bonzi and JVG, but this quote pretty much sums up his effort and phantom injuries all last season. Fault JVG for a lot of things, but this seems all on Bonzi and explains a lot about his subpar play, not being in shape and eventually quitting on the team. Some savior he turned out to be
I guess he'd rather pout than try to play for the next contract. Not very smart. Now, he'll be lucky to get what he made this year on the open market this summer.
Okay, let Bonzi play the third quarter and overcome the deficit or stretch the lead and sit his $2 Million ass down. Simple.
Can't we get some use out of Bonzi? He's still getting $2 mil. I say let him suit up and play. And by suit up I mean he can put on the Clutch the Bear costume and dunk at half time. He could also walk around the TC before the game starts meeting w/ the kids.
Bonzi, Boki, Stro, Snyder, VSpan, Novak ... How many potentially valuable (albeit imperfect) assets have been ruined by JVG? Very telling ...
how does him saying this before he played for us have anything to do with JVG I'll also have to disagree on Stro (still sucked in Memphis)
I'd be amazed if Bonzi did that math on that figure himself. I'd be utterly astonished if that were the case. In the meantime, could we please organize a public execution for this guy? Pretty please?!
