Anyone else notice Jirk flashing the three fingers in OT like JB & Sura did in last year's playoffs? Copycat!

It might be unfair to expect them to beat higher seeds in a seven game series - but to win one freaking game? Come on. Winning a single game in a 7 game series should be doable, at least once every few years.

Hopefully it will give him the same success it gave us.

I wouldn't exactly call the Nuggets a "higher" seed. :D

Yeah, I noticed it, but that's not what bothers me... I really can't stand some Dallas fans. Last year they would complain when we did that or about the expression on someone's face when they hit a big shot.. now this year, when the Mavs do that sign or hit a big shot, the fans get on their knees for Dirk saying how awesome it is.. seriously, Dallas fans are usually HOMERS with no objectivity at all

I'm glad I'm not the only one that caught it.

LOL, Memphis perhaps is the most heartless franchise in this playoffs. I mean they don't even put up a serious fight!

Man, I feel ashamed for their performance!

The Grizzlies are a spineless, heartless, gutless waste of a playoff spot. The sorriest performance by a #5 seed in the history of the NBA.

Except, unlike the Grizzlies, Stevie has won 1 playoff game.

Really sucks to be a Grizz fan. They should've tanked to get the Nuggets. They deserve it for not tanking

Quick question: Which scenario would you rather have?

    1) Your team is in the lottery.
    2) Your team is embarrassingly swept from the playoffs 4-0 (again) as a #5 seed.

It's a tough call, but I think I'd rather be in the lottery. At least that way, the team and fans would have a glimmer of hope for the future in the form of a high draft pick. Plus, the consternation of dealing with an absolute disaster of a postseason (being swept) would probably eat at me for weeks, if not months (see: Game 7, Rockets vs. Mavs).

Of course, if I knew the end result of a playoff run before it actually unfolded, I'd be a very rich man. :p

LOL, I was expecting someone to say something like this. Higher seeds? Try elite teams. Last year's version of the Suns was the best edition of the Suns this decade. The Spurs in their prime. The Mavs with probably their best playoff-ready team so far. You act as though I ascribed contender status to Memphis. Obviously, they have never been close to being an elite team, and they got slammed just as everyone knew they would. They pile up regular seasons wins because of superior depth, while the playoffs are a different matter altogether.

They've lost two games in this heartbreaking fashion out of their twelve, and there are a few in the East every year that certainly would have their @ss swept by the Spurs or Mavs. Last year's edition of the East had six playoff teams in the East that would likely have gotten swept by a Western Conference elite. I lump Memphis with all those Eastern conference losers, no more, no less. Put them in the East and their playoff record becomes respectable; again, that is my point.

That's the problem of having one semi-star player like Pau Gasol (who you don't need to double-team) and a group of decent role players (honestly they have some bench players who are better than our starters). These guys are good enough to push the team to the playoff and out of the lottery. But they are not good enough to win one playoff game.

That doesn't matter - it's unacceptable to not win one game in 12 tries if you're a 50 win team. It doesn't matter who they play (they've never played an eventual champion, it looks like). A slightly above average Rockets team managed to win one game after 3 tries against the Lakers in 2004. Hell, the Bucks blew away the Pistons the other night. Even the Lakers, Celtics, Pistons and Bulls woudl drop a game in the first round in their glory days.

It's not that hard to win a single game.
