BTW, I edited the script again. I forgot that someone made a very good crow-eating response. :)

    SELL!

    SELL!

    SELL!

Where does this rank on the list of "greatest sporting events in the history of the state of texas"?

    Ice Bowl?

    Arkansas/Texas "Game of the Century"?

I have no idea, but that was a ridiculously entertaining game.

    Hook 'Em.

    Dear Reggie,

Please see that The Trophy makes its way to its rightful owner.

    Thank you and take care,

Not sure about in Texas history, but I can't see this game not being the best Rose Bowl ever.

i don't even know if the word "possibly" belongs in that sentence.

that has to be the best individual performance in a big game in the history of the game. it was almost flawless to the point of being ridiculous. no turnovers, 267 yards passing, 200 rushing, 3 td's, 2 TD drives in the final 6 minutes to overcome a 12 point deficit, nearly all of the two drives accounted for by vince. if someone had asked me to script vince's performance i would've been too bashful to hand that line in. and he friggin' did it in real life. you'd struggle to recreate it on ps2. the singular greatest performance i've ever seen.

as for the game, definitely in the running for greatest game ever. two heavyweights slugging it out, back and forth, winning score w/ 19 seconds and not decided until the final play. just unreal. up there with all the various games of the century and miami/ohio st. and to win it, i can't even fully take it in right now.

we were just all so down when down 12, and yet i thought if we could just score and stop them and give vince a chance, it could happen. and when lendale came up a few inches short, you had to know vince would do it. he's just that incredible. he is The One. i mean you don't even dream of seeing an athlete like this on your team in your lifetime, but he's here doing it game after game, taking all the haters and disbelievers one at a time. to be two minutes from a national title, to have 4th and 5 for the game, and to do it all so calmly. he is just never fazed. he was already the greatest player in UT history before tonight, imo. now we may as well just go and erect a gold statue of him out in front of the stadium for everyone to see as they walk in for every home game. incredible.

I can't imagine people with any doubts now. Give Vince time to make reads he kills you passing. Try to rush him and get too far up field, and he obliterates you running. The only thing about SC's run D I will say is some of Vince's long runs tonight would have been TD's in last year's Rose Bowl. :D

Two years ago, Mack Brown could not win a big game to save his life. Now he has 4 straight in little over a year, and the national title many(including myself) thought he would never win here. The Nice Guy finally finished first.

Rocketman95 -- You should follow my lead and show some class after the game. Taunting other posters after a big win is not classy. It should not be your gut reaction to the game. Perhaps celebration or jubiliation. Not taunting.

I don't hold the non-UT graduates' behavior against Texas grads though. The majority of them can behave in a civil manner after big wins. Not much they can do about t-shirt fans embarrassing them by their behavior.

Did Vince really strike the heisman pose and yell "whose heisman?" after the game?

I didn't catch that.. but jeez..

Heh...so that's why you did it. Reading through this thread from first page to last, I was a little surprised by your positive response after the game. It's a little more clear now. Sneaky.

i don't know, but i can't blame him if he did. having to hear for a month that reggie is the greatest person to ever walk the earth when you know you're better and then to get destroyed in the heisman voting had to get on his nerves a little. and what fine motivation it was.

That was from another thread. There are other pics of him doing the pose floating around the net also. I kind of don't blame him. I have no idea if he yelled anything, though.

He was clearly the better player tonight, let him have a little fun.

"The quarterback ran all over the place."

    "This is their night."

    --Pete Carroll--

    Respect.

You, sir, have won the best "gush" post of the night with your effort a few spots up.

    I salute you.

And no matter what he had to hear, it doesn't excuse that kind of behavior.

Did ESPN really spend that last month building up USC as the greatest team ever and wonder why UT had a chip on their shoulders?

Did ABC really interview Carroll, Leinart, and Bush before showing the UT celebration?

Dude basically singlehandedly defeated the "Greatest Team Ever". Give him some slack.

Did that pompous southern cal prick Leinhart say he still thought they were the better team after they lost?

    Now that's class....

Emotions were running high. Emotions or hype may not excuse his behavior, but they didn't excuse Leinart's behavior either. The reactions from the two quarterbacks simply show me that both teams left everything they had on the field. Otherwise, you simply wouldn't be as offended by a loss, or as excited by a win.
