Why did we release Livingston?

I can't understand why. He is obviously playing well now, playing like a starter even on some teams. He was playing well when he was with us. I think the reason they let him go was because he was not a 3 point shooter. I believe we had Beverley and Lin at that time so he was released? but still why did we release him if he is paying well? Sorry I know past is past.

I think it's because we had to make room for Dampier. I just remember we needed a big man instead due to injury. He played well during his time here.

Maurey didn't like that Livingston only took inefficient two point shots and didn't have three point range.

Moron treats PGs like trading cards.

    ...

On a serious note, Livingston came back from the most horrific injury we have seen in the NBA and it was questionable as to whether he could be back to his old self, he is also benefiting a lot from the system.

Not gonna blame Durrel here. Although I will say, a person with extensive basketball experience at the NBA level at the least would see the value in a 6'7" or w.e PG. Matchup exploitation all over the place.

Because he's a role player who thrives in a system allows role players to shine. he didn't shine in Houston and got dropped.

Let's take a step back here. It's remarkable how far he's come but is he any better than he was when played for the Nets? Guy averages 6 ppg, has played for 10 teams in 11 years.

People acting like he just dropped 40,he scored 15 points on 6-15 shooting.
Missed a point blank layup that everyone slams Bev about all the time except in this case Iggy cleaned it up.

Never understood it either. It pissed me off when we released him cause I thought signing him was genius.

Could've had Livingston, Carroll, and Whiteside on cheap deals. Morey the genius.

A 6'7 high IQ Low tread PG easily shooting over 6'2 PGs with little mid range gimmes? Doesn't fit.

He's a constant matchup nightmare. Theoretically its pretty blatant....but he has shown it on the court too.

Moranic will live and die by his marquee trade object Harden...

If Harden leaves, Moranic's days are numbered as well

McHale wanted to keep him. Morey cut him from the team.

Livingston was still recovering from his injury. Its not like immediately after he got cut by us he became as good as he is today. How many years has it been ? At least two full seasons now of further rehab. He wasn't fully healthy end of story. It was still unclear if he was ever going to play at an even passable NBA level after that knee injury.

    Nope, Scott Machado.

Scott Machado is better though, right?

Verified as true after the cut in interviews. McHale loved him as he apparently had an incredible training camp with good veteran leadership. Seemed despondent after the cut when asked about it.

    Word.
