I rememer Anderson's slider well. In fact, I think he threw it almost 100% of the time. It was that good.

His trick was he'd throw it just off the outside corner until the batter was able to lay off of it, then he'd start it at the batter's hip and let it back up for a strike on the inside corner.

And that was when he hit his peak too. In my opinion, although often refuted here, he was the best pitcher in all of baseball at that time. A one pitch pitcher. That was awesome.
