... is back.

Dennis Scott just said during the Orlando Magic Summer League broadcast that Ish Smith called the Magic at the last minute and told him he wasn't playing because... he was playing on the Rockets summer league squad.

Dude is an unrestricted free agent by the by.

Agreed. He would fit in perfectly with the youth movement. He may even learn how to shoot a J.

I mean we don't have much choices. Among AB, Ramon Sessions, Lin and Machado, and Ish, I like Ish's chance a lot.

Smart move.
Go where he has the best shot at minutes.
Welcome back Ish!

I like Ish as a 3rd stringer, but I think alot of people are going to be surprised how good Scott Machado is. I think he will end up being much better for the Rockets as a solid backup.

This is what Morey meant today when he said he wasn't worried with picking up a 1 off the waiver wire who would approximate the level of play that Lowry and Dragic gave us.

Look at LA and Miami up to this year. Did they have good point guards? Even San Antonio and OKC have point guards who don't distribute the ball as a primary role.

The new NBA has shown us that PG's that pass the ball are no longer needed. The best distributor on a good team is Rondo. Paul, Deron, and Nash are the best passers and none of them have come close to sniffing a championship--none have even played in an NBA Finals. A great team these days asks its PG to make the open shot at minimum, create offense off the dribble and break down defenses with athleticism at most. Running an offense is no longer desired from that position.

I'm fine with Brooks sitting there not playing defense and shooting threes all day, if that's what it comes down to. We don't need to win games, so we don't need a PG that is long and athletic and can defend the perimeter well. Eventually you would like someone like that who can also shoot, but for now it's Tank Time, finally.

You made a good point, but I don't think Rondo is giving back his '08 Championship ring.

If Royce White is really going to handle the ball for the rotation/2nd squad, then the better value at PG might be to find a taller, athletic defender rather than looking for someone with developed offensive skills (scoring/assists). White wont be able to stay in front of any PGs and if Lamb is also on the court, then we will need someone to stay on their best guard. Plus, these guys come cheaper.

Notice the "." after Rondo. His sentence was clear and correct.

I don't think he's a starter but he's a very, very capable distributor off the bench.

Travelling back in time once more. Would be fun if we end up with AB and Ish Smith at PG

How can people saying we're making progess when we're resigning players we previously gave up on? All the while, other teams are significantly getting better
