People are understandably ecstatic at the defensive lock down that Artest/Battier put on Lebron and at the agressive, incredibly efficient offensive game that Yao played. However, I think Lowry really deserves some credit this game. He played some great anticipation defense, staying in front of his man without overplaying him and his passing, especially some of those lob passes to Yao were pretty impressive. I'm very optimistic about his future with the rockets.
he surely was impressive last night, and i just love to watch a tough and aggressive defender putting pressure on the opponent's pg, which he demonstrated perfectly last night. he's good on my list
I was suprised at some of the passes he got off to Yao on his drives. They might learn to play together despite his shooting deficiencies, after all. I've always been impressed with him and I think he'll eventually be the starter. You can never have too much defense in your starting lineup. No slight to Brooks, who also played well, but he did let Delonte West abuse him a bit. West is a great player, but still. With Lowry, Artest, Battier on the floor the opposing them would have a nightmare scoring.
love what i see from him so far. the play where delonte west tried every move he had to get past lowry and ended up getting stripped. lock down.
He looked OUTSTANDING in that stretch in the 2nd quarter. This guy is not afraid, he just goes inside and looks for contact. He was making plays. The problem with him is that he needs to be CONSISTANT. He can't play well for only like 6 minutes.
no doubt....will be the starter for the rockets for years to come. i predict next season....he might start finishing games by the end of the season because he can set up the offense better than brooks
Time will tell. He is looking better and better each game as a Rocket. Hopefully come playoff time, he will be fully integrated into our team play.
I think you're right about Lowry eventually starting.. he plays within the system and he's very disciplined.. he loves to distribute the ball and plays hard on d.. can't ask for anything more
I like him. I am even ok with the trade. I understand he is a young guy and he has a lot of time to learn and hasn't practiced much with this team so he doesn't know much. Right now we see how great he can be. We needed somebody like that, he is pretty guick and is not afraid of any contact. I like Brooks, but when he gets inside he usually gets lost between those big guys. Kyle is not afraid, he will finish no matter who is standing under the basket.
Funny you say that, on the play where he drove and pass the ball to Yao UP HIGH for the dunk underneath the basket......I told my brother that he was the first PG I've seen throw the ball UP to Yao instead of down. I thought that was an awesome play and pass.
I was Mad at Moreyy when he made the move but defenetly a great great move!! Lowry is making our second team way quicker!!
I was glad the trade went down. Not because I necessairly disliked Rafer, or really liked Lowry, but I was tired of reading on this forum and listening to friends talk about how much they hate Rafer.
did anyone see when delonte west posted up brooks and backed him down? then lowry came in and west tried posting up lowry too, but he realized he wasnt backing him down so he tried to face him up, then lowry picked his pocket. that whole sequence was hilarious. lowry's only played 3 games or so but he's a much better passer than Brooks. hes a better post entry passer for the simple fact that he doesn't bounce pass it to Yao, and that lob to Yao off the drive was the first this season. i think Brooks must've heard Barkley in the pre game because he played like he was nervous. i think he realizes Lowry gives him some competition. if he had a jumper he'd be starting.
I think that was the play where I turned to my wife and said "Holy sh_t, that was some great defense."
I don't know about you guys, but if I am Lowry, I'll hire a shooting coach and spend the entire off season working on my jumpshots!
I like him he has driving ability... and as odd as it may sound... with the big guy in the middle... you still need someone who can drive the ball in... and make a pass...contact or shot... Brooks made some very nice passes to our clumsey center to.... these two guys maybe young and mistake prone...but they are for the most part doing there jobs... and can only get better in my eyes
