Probably legit. There are a few sites like this. They make all the money on the purchase of bids and I guess it's profitable more often than not for them. For example, if a winning PS3 bid is $10.00 and a bid costs $0.50, the company just grossed $500. This assumes a starting bid of $0.01 and bids are one cent increments (typical, I think). But winning seems as likely as playing bingo. It's really a gamble in the end with so many people to compete against.

you pay for bids. reason items are so cheap is cause people calculate the price they paid to bid with their bid. ex. someone bids $1.00 plus .60 to place a bid. bidder considers he just spent 1.60. price of item however only increases by $1. so overall item is going to seem cheaper because aggregated price of bidding isn't seen in the total price of item. so basically, if you're going to bid, you better bid till you win, otherwise you will be the loser. try to bid during night when everyone is sleeping and there is less competition. also, time increases by 10 seconds every time someone bids. it's a pretty smart/well thought out bidding system imo.
